We can always rely on Harel Skaat to crank up the drama! From his Eurovision 2010 entry to singles such as “Now”, the Israeli singer has never been shy to show his emotions. And “Hollow”, his latest release, is no different. The track opens with a crescendo of strings and percussion, before Skaat commands “don’t stop”. He’s been dumped, and is beyond the point of caring. An ice queen has left him numb, but he’s never been better. His drive and determination to move on is infectious, giving an added impetus to what could have been a morose lament. You could easily label this as a “Rolling In The Deep” wannabe, but wait until you see the music video. Everything takes on a whole new meaning!
Harel Skaat “Hollow” Official Video
Our bold Harel is engaging in some ménage à trois action with what appears to be a male underwear model and a manic pixie dream girl. Isn’t it well for some! They initially occupy an idyllic world of pillow fights and bubble baths, but soon jealous glances and over-the-top theatrics takeover. Eventually, the pair fade away, leaving Harel and us to ask whether it was ever real to begin with. This is deep, rul rul deep. We feel for the guy and if he needs a shoulder to cry on…
As Harel sings during the chorus – never better.
Harel Skaat Interview at World Pride 2012
Harel Skaat – Hollow Lyrics
Don’t stop
Don’t (you) stare
Got your foot through the door
So why’re you standing there
If I move
I could break
Don’t pretend
That you know
What you’re doing here
And after all that
You just left with a dust
Of unspoken words undone
And now I’m numb
And now I’m numb
Never better
Nothing matters anymore
I’m hollow, hollow, hollow
Never better
Nothing matters anymore
I’m hollow, hollow, hollow
Ice queen
Come clean
You were melting for a while
When you let me in
And after all love
You left a chill
Left me frozen
With broken words undone
And now I’m numb
Never better
Nothing matters anymore
I’m hollow, hollow, hollow
I wanna know
Just tell me once
If it was real these last few months
No need to explain
I see the pain
Through frosted glass
Never better
Nothing matters anymore
Never better
Nothing matters anymore
I’m hollow, hollow, hollow
Never better
Nothing matters anymore
I’m hollow, hollow, hollow
I’m hollow, hollow, hollow
Perhaps Harel is making a subtle opening gambit in the campaign for legal recognition of same- &/or opposite-sex polygamous marriage? I also recall a snippet of Lithuania’s 2015 official video that seemed to be saying “two’s company, but three’s YUM-pany” (to coin a phrase). Eurovision and it’s stars – once again at the cutting edge of social-policy debate! … :0)
@Leon; they are together. They started dating back in 2011, were separated twice for short periods, but got back together and are together for a long time now.
I don’t think Harel is dating Idan Roll anymore
3rd time is a charm: Lawyer!!
Opps! I meant Lawer
(-:
@Shaun Trebles ; Yes he is.
His boyfriend’s name is Idan Rol and he’s a model/lower

So is he gay after all?
Unfortunatly he was the last great thing until this year to happen to Israël, but do people in Israël even care about Eurovision?
@josg We’ve already written about Leonor’s single http://wiwibloggs.com/2015/07/01/portugal-leonor-andrade-ep-ja-conheci/99028/

Well Israel was underrated in Malmo’s Vision in 2013 with Moran Mazor…She deserved to qualify to the final & pity that she didn’t..
About last year & Mei Feigold…Well her song was great but her performance was just dreadful & fail…So she didn’t deserve to qualify & she got what she really deserved..
This year i was surprised about how great Israel did in Vienna with Nadavito..
He finished 9th! And he did better than i expected in OGAE voting as well! The israeli entry received points almost by all the ogae clubs! The 7th place there was great!
Vladimir – Agree with you. Israel always sends great entries, but I think they usually lack on the stage production. Israel’s this year’s entry was my favorite, and last year and the year before they sent great entries but the stage production fell flat. Same with Harel. His song was great, but his vocals were terrible and the song fell flat on the night of the final.
@Vladimir I agree 100% with you. And Polina and Nadav were also my favorites this year (with the Norwegian entrant as well) 🙂
Very hot <3
Israel is one of my favorite Eurovision countries. They have given us so many amazing entries, but unfortunately quite a few of them (Mei Finegold, Moran Mazor, Harel Skaat, David D’Or, Rita…) were not appreciated. Together with Polina Gagarina, Nadav’s entry was my favorite this year and I think he deserved higher ranking. Anyway, a nice song and video from Harel.
It is true indeed that most of us are really bisexuals possibly..
Even if its like 90-99 % / 10-1% percentage only..
Elina of Estonia killed few of my gay cells.. <3
She is so pretty.. <3
Tamar Kaprelian so pretty as well <3
I can't feel really erotic lust & fall in love with women anymore {alhough i had girlfriends in my teen years} but i can feel warmly towards them & impressed by their beauty hotness.. <3 🙂
Hot babe Harel is… <3
I better not write his surname too.. 😛
With that surname he is brave that he does a music career 😉
In his videoclip he touched the topic of bisexuality..
Well for someone to be bisexual its the same with any other sexual orientation..
If you have a partner that is bisexual this does not mean that he will gonna cheat you with either a woman or guy..
Its the same with straight or gay relationships..
You fall in love the person & not the gender..
