After debuting their new single “L’amore si muove” (“Love moves”), Il Volo have now released its music video. It tells the touching love story of a couple who have been together since birth, and features Il Volo as you’ve never seen them before.
The first time we see Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca in the video, they are heavily made up as old men, hobbling over to a bench. The make-up isn’t so convincing and sometimes the trio look more like undead zombies instead of senior citizens. (Hey, maybe that’s an idea for their next video…)
The main video tells the story of a couple’s lifelong love. The soulmates were born on the same day and we see them grow up from kids, to teens to young adults and finally as an elderly couple. Fortunately the video uses actual seniors to play the parts.
Like other Il Volo videos, it captures the passion and drama of the song but at the same time isn’t afraid to have a bit of fun.

I meant ‘coming-of-age’…
I liked how they managed to condense a lifetime in 3 minutes and tell an uplifting story of the eternal cycle of life and coming to age. The prologue and epilogue didn’t feel right, even though it’s nice to see the guys’ lighter side when they joke around…it’s a rather powerful and effective act with great location shots and lyrical depth of the finest tradition. They certainly have the Midas touch and hopefully the trio can incorporate the fun elements they showed on the sidelines into their next acts.
