This year marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Mariya Yaremchuk’s father. Nazariy Yaremchuk was a popular singer in Ukraine and Mariya has always credited him as her inspiration. To commemorate the occasion, and the man, Mariya has released a cover of his song “Family”, with the intention of bringing a new and contemporary life to her father’s legacy.

“The song is very important for Ukraine today,” Mariya said of the release on Facebook. “We need to understand that we are family, we are contemporary Ukraine.” She’s done a very good job updating her father’s classic.

Not only this, but Mariya is embarking on a nation-wide tour from her home town of Chernivtsi to Kyiv to celebrate her father’s life. She’s performing revamped versions of her father’s songs as well as her Eurovision and New Wave hits we all know and love. So if you find yourself in Kyiv with nothing to do, you know where to go!

*Tick Tock*….Time is running out 4 ALL of us..
Everyone of us will gonna pass away eventually..
In a way i would prefer to die young than live 4 too long & live inside of a dying ugly too old body..
And its really bad to think that we only live once & we won't be able to live again i guess..
