Rome has decided – Chiara and Martina Scarpari will represent Italy at Junior Eurovision 2015!

This year, the Italian state broadcaster decided to launch its first ever Junior Eurovision national selection in a form of the special episode of popular show Ti Lascio Una Canzone.

The kids singing show – which was the big break for big names (and big voices) like Il Volo, Gaia Cauchi and last year’s Junior Eurovision winner Vincenzo Cantiello – gave us a three-hour long treat of complicated scenarios, nail-biting duels, and amazingly talented singers. #ThisIsHowTheyDoInItaly

Here is how the show unfolded:

Round one – duels

Two competitors went head to head in duels. Votes from the orchestra, jury and televoters picked the five to advance to the next stage. (the acts in bold advanced to the next stage)

  1. Claudia Ciccateri vs. Rebecca Toschi
  2. Beatrice Coltella & Antonio Licari vs.  Sophia de Rosa & Andrea Ascanio
  3.  Chiara & Marina Scarpari vs. Gabriele Acquavia
  4.  Valentina Baldelli vs. Emanuele Bertelli
  5.  Clara Palmeri vs. Giovanni Sutera Sardo

The jury awarded Emanuele Bertelli a wildcard.

Round two – medley

The six remaining competitors sang a medley of Italy’s greatest Eurovision hits. A combined jury-televote decided the top two.

  1. Emanuele Bertelli
  2.  Giovanni Sutera Sardo
  3.  Valentina Baldelli
  4.  Chiara & Martina Scarpari
  5.  Beatrice Coltella & Antonio Licari
  6. Claudia Ciccateri

Round three – music clash

The winner was decided by televote alone. And this vote only chose the singer, not the song. The song will be chosen by internal selection at a later date.

  1.  Chiara & Martina Scarpari
  2.  Giovanni Sutera Sardo

You can listen to their performances in the selection by clicking at each song title:

  • Chiara and Martina Scarpari – Senza pietà (originally by Anna Oxa)
  • Chiara and Martina Scarpari –  Una ragione di più (originally by Ornela Vannoni)

And we are still looking 4 the rest 12 songs!
It really seems that they are going to get released either next month & November!

There are still a few countries left to decide for participation:
– Germany
– Greece
– San Marino
– Sweden
– Spain
– Australia

Also interestingly Croatia might stay as well now too. 🙂

Meh. I wanna hear their song. There are better vocalists. I guess Italy didn’t want to win for a second time.

It could be a decent song but not sung well live and it has no chance of winning

NOT LIKE THEM!!! I preferred Giovanni or Emmanuele. Either way I don´t think Italy would win twice in a row.

I really like them xD I hope the song is good, but about Giovanni, who sings in English when you’re competing to represent Italy?! O_O

What happened to Emanuele was so sad, when they accidentally called out his name as one of the two finalists when it was Giovanni :'( Poor guy…
