Tbilisi calling! Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) has confirmed Georgia‘s participation in Eurovision 2016, meaning we’ll see more of that Georgian warrior spirit in Stockholm.
GPB haven’t confirmed the method they’ll use to choose their 2016 artist and song. Their 2015 entry was chosen by a national final. Five artists were selected by an expert panel, they performed on New Year’s Eve, then Georgian viewers had the first two weeks of the new year to cast televotes. Along with a 50% jury vote, this determined Nina Sublatti and her powerhouse anthem “Warrior” as the winner.
The other big question is who should sing for Georgia. Check out our Georgian wishlist, including Katie Melua, BERA, Tamta, Nini Tsnobiladze and The BearFox.
Are you excited at Georgia’s return? Who do you think should represent Georgia in Stockholm? Leave your comments below!
@Robyn great! maybe we’ll top 40 this year
@danielesc: Patience, Daniel-san! You may yet get your wish! I’ve seen many YouTube videos with ideal prospects from ESC fans and bloggers left and right; and for Georgia, many of them want to see Nina try to qualify for the 2016 contest.
Ha. Glitch. Naughty website…
I hope Georgia send something as great as last year and don’t bring back the parachutes and a bad Shakira impersonator.
This is gonna be the best year since 2011 i think.
EUROVISION 2015 ONLY NINA SUBLATTI
Maybe Tamta this time?
Oscillated*
is there a reason why so many countries are confirming participation today?
is it the deadline or something?
Tbh, im a native english speaker and i’ve never heard the words “oximated” or “oxillated” in my life. Maybe i need Nina to teach my english!
