On October 9, Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst flew to Glasgow to perform at the Icon Awards — Scotland’s premiere LGBTI Awards Ceremony. And this morning she hung out with another Scottish star: ITV chat show host Lorraine Kelly. When we saw our most favourite bearded lady walk onto our TV set, we just had to put down our coffee and Instagram like it was our last night on earth.

Conchita, who will release her debut album in the UK on October 16, performed “You are Unstoppable”.

But before that she fielded a series of questions from the always loveable Lorraine. She retold the story of how she ended up wearing a beard on stage. She had accepted a gig as the host of a recurring burlesque show in Vienna and couldn’t be bothered to shave every night.

And she also said that she just LOVES singing “Rise Like a Phoenix” over and over and over…

If you’re in the UK and haven’t heard Conchita’s new album (1) Who are you?! and (2) You can enjoy some of her songs from the Life Ball 2015 below. You can also watch our in-depth interview about her album and biography, and some behind-the-scenes footage when we met her in Vienna.
