Despite her disappointing result at Eurovision 2014, Emma Marrone is still one of the biggest Italian stars of her time. Today, the 31-year-old singer released her latest single Arriverà l’amore (Love will come). In just a few hours she had already topped the Italian iTunes singles chart….until the arrival of Hurricane Adele wiped the blonde Italian from first place.
Emma has released Arriverà l’amore in anticipation of her fifth studio album, which is expected to drop at the end of November 2015. It’s a power ballad that isn’t that different from her previous releases stylistically. But several Italian music sites have already issued a damning verdict: this is the worst song in her discography.
Some have gone as far as to say the singer has shamelessly copied the sound of Gianna Nannini, one of Emma’s biggest inspirations.

The 61-year-old Nannini is considered the only female rock singer in Italy and she has sold millions of records in her homeland — and in Germany — since launching her career in 1976. She also released a duet with Toše Proeski, who represented Macedonia at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, Turkey.
Emma has never hidden the influence of Gianna on her music, but it seems that she went a bit too far this time! Has the time come for Emma to change her name to Emmanna Nannone?
In reality there is no real plagiarism, but Arriverà l’amore is reminiscent of Nannini’s recent production. There’s a very Nannini-esque use of strings in the arrangement.
Nannini aside, do you like Arriverà l’amore? Let us know below!
EMMA MARRONE INTERVIEW AT EUROVISION 2014
EMMA MARRONE – ARRIVERÀ L’AMORE LYRICS
Quanti giorni hai senza sorridere
Mai
Who wrote this article??? Gianna Nannini the only Italian rock singer? What about Ginevra di Marco, Angela Baraldi, Nada, Sara Mazo, Rachele Bastrenghi, Silvia Orlandi. And we could count some in the mainstream too, like Carmen Consoli. Who wrote this article doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and it’s a shame, and it’s also probably the reason why he’s writing about Emma Marrone, who’s worth nothing.
I have known this song for so long but I’ve never paid attention to its lyrics. Few minutes ago I chcecked the lyrics translation, I was crying with each line more. Emma is such a fanastic woman. She deserves to win Eurovision. I am looking forward her comeback.
Well, i actually like the song, but Occhi Profondi and Non e l’inferno are way better than this. Marco 2016 please.
I loved her Eurovision entry. My favorite Italian entry to this date.
