Back in 2014, Betty represented Armenia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, finishing third with “People of the Sun”. She stole our hearts and cleaned up at the Wiwi Jury Awards. That wasn’t the end of her adventure, and now she celebrates the “New Generation” in her follow-up single.

Betty — “New Generation”

Fans of “People of the Sun” can look forward to much of the same — this will get you on your feet and dancing along to Betty’s spectacular choreography. The beat is instantly memorable and Betty’s dance moves slay. The only thing fiercer than her dancing is her hair. Check out that styling!

Betty starts by singing, “don’t rush to grow up,” setting the pace for a song all about empowering youth to chase their dreams. The song comes into life in the first chorus as she sings, “wake up and smile, life gives us the chance to reach all of our dreams.” The lyrics are mostly in Armenian but an English bridge enables everyone to connect with the song.

The song concludes with more shots of Betty’s moves as she slays the pack in a shipping yard, a grassy field and a futuristic club. Whatever the location, she brings her A-game and we love it.

Azeries and Turks started spreading their brain-washing propaganda on here. Instead of chatting, go and make a tribute to your “national heroes” who killed a sleeping Armenian with an ax and beheaded Armenians and later were declared as national heroes of Azerbaijan. Try to give tips to others once you become civilised. Now you just need to shut your mouth and be ashamed of your national heroes.

That’s a very bad message to send through kids. Seriously, so fed up with all the negative nationalism coming from Armenia. I don’t feel safe anymore.

@Ron, Armenia only accepted ethnic Armenian refugees from Syria and they tried to place them in Karabakh in order to increase the Armenian population in the occupied territories. A very smart move! That actually sounds more nationalistic rather than humanistic to me.

Dear Zak,
Dont waste your words and breathe.
Armenia proved that how much you loved blood and the chaos. Blaming other countries won’t help anymore.

The ones who are hear to chat have no idea that for centuries Turks and a newly-created state Azerbaijan slaughter the whole nation. They behead kids as well. They have to protect them. If you see how you’re parents and brothers are killed, you’re unborn brothers and sisters are taken out of your mother’s tummy, you will realise what they feel. Turkey and Azerbaijan have stolen their childhood, keep them in blockade mere because of the religion. I wish Turkey becomes an EU member and you all gonna experience what they’ve been experiencing from 12-th century when this nomadic tribes… Read more »

Everytime i come across with a news about Armenia i say to myself : ‘what is it now? Nationalism/ hatred/ war/ breaking rules? Which one?’ And I never get wrong, never surprises me. Even when they sing with an innocent child a happy song, they are showing army forces? Whaat? I mean WHAT?!

@Esc 2016 – I’m really curious where in Europe you’re from? I would be very curious to know how much humanism your country has shown to refugees in crisis, because it appears to be that Armenia, [the bad nationalist country that needs to be kicked out of eurovision because their junior eurovision contestant is wearing a military plaid pants in her song] is actually the country that has accepted the most refugees from Syria population % wise. And, this is a country that has one of the lowest gdp per capita’s in Europe/Eurasia. Is that humanistic enough for you?

this is so typical for Armenia, patriotism! Armenia is so over for me after this years Eurovision.. someone should say stop to this country.

There are more important things than nationalism like HUMANITY for example.

Ok people the song has nothing to do with patriotism, nationalism, army any of it. It’s a song about creating a new generation through social media throughout the world. I guess the choice of army plaids was due to the choreography of the song. Seriously, people need to think before they write. Sick of the negative attitudes here.
