It’s already been two years since Emma Marrone sang “La mia citta” and flashed her golden panties at Eurovision 2014 in Copenhagen. But the Italian goddess still gets our blood pumping with hit after hit.

“Il paradiso non esiste” (Heaven Doesn’t Exist) is not her latest single, but it’s the one lingering most in our minds — and on Italian airwaves. A huge summer hit, it’s been played on repeat by millions since launching in late April.

In the music video Emma serves some Amazonian realness.

We see Queen Emma and her sexy tribe dance, contort, hump, writhe and stretch in loin clothes, showing off their gym-honed bodies, which are painted and inked.

Besides dancing, Emma demonstrates that famous skill she mastered in Copenhagen — crawling on the ground and tantalizing us with her intense eye contact and facial tattoos. Strangely she puts us at peace and brings peace to nature.

And she does it live, too.

If you follow her on social media then you already know that she’s been everywhere in Italy in recent months — TV shows, festivals and concerts — presenting the song. She always rests for at least one line of the chorus to let the public chant the lyrics they know so well. It’s beautiful and oh-so-impressive.

Even though Emma has finished work on her fourth studio album Adesso, she isn’t resting on her laurels. Instead she’s been involved in a number of social campaigns. Her song “Io di te non ho paura addressed domestic violence, and with her single “Arriverà l’amore” she has supported civil unions in Italy.

Il paradiso non esiste

Ha tremato la terra
dopo ogni tuo passo,
ti aspettavo proprio dietro la porta
E’ così che hai imparato il coraggio,
è così che hai imparato da me.
Le parole che hai detto
fanno ridere l’aria,
mentre si piegava tutto il cielo.
E’ così che ho imparato ad odiarti,
è così che ho imparato da te.

Ogni cosa dormiva,
il tempo si trascina
come fosse un gigante,
la natura si ostina
come se il mio ruggito si perdesse
inascoltato tra la gente.

Il paradiso non esiste,
esistono solo le mie braccia
in questo piccolo mondo di oggi,
in questo piccolo mondo
un mondo infinito.
Il paradiso non esiste,
lo abbiamo lasciato a tutti gli altri
mi basta il piccolo mondo di oggi,
un mondo infinito.

Nella vita ho capito cosa voglio
e chi sono,
ad ognuno serve una lezione.
E’ così che ho imparato ad amarmi
è così che ho imparato da me.

La natura mi sfida,
il tempo si trascina
come fosse un gigante,
come fa molta gente
come se il mio ruggito si perdesse
inascoltato tra la gente.

Il paradiso non esiste,
esistono solo le mie braccia
in questo piccolo mondo di oggi,
in questo piccolo mondo
un mondo infinito.
Il paradiso non esiste,
lo abbiamo lasciato a tutti gli altri
mi basta il piccolo mondo di oggi,
un mondo infinito.

Ha tremato la terra
dopo ogni mio passo
perché trema la terra
anche solo se penso
io che il cuore l’ho perso,
l’ho gettato in un fosso
e adesso lo desidero per te.

Il paradiso non esiste,
lo abbiamo lasciato a tutti gli altri
mi basta il piccolo mondo di oggi,
un mondo infinito.

The heaven doesn’t exist

The earth has shaken
After every one of your steps
I waited for you right behind the door
This is how you learned courage
This is how you learned from me
The words you’ve spoken
Make the air laugh
While the entire sky folded
This is how I’ve learned to hate you
This is how I’ve learned from you

Everything slept
Time drags itself
As if it were a giant
Nature persists
As if my roar were losing itself
Unheard among the people

Heaven doesn’t exist
Only my arms exist
In this little world of today
In this little world
An infinite world
Heaven doesn’t exist
We’ve left it to everyone else
A little world of today is enough for me
An infinite world

In life, I’ve understood what I want
And who I am
Everyone could use a lesson
This is how I’ve learned to love me
This is how I’ve learned from me

Nature challenges me
Time drags itself
As if it were a giant
As do so many people
As if my roar were losing itself
Unheard among the people

Heaven doesn’t exist
Only my arms exist
In this little world of today
In this little world
An infinite world
Heaven doesn’t exist
We’ve left it to everyone else
A little world of today is enough for me
An infinite world

The earth has shaken
After every one of my steps
Because the earth shakes
Even if I only think
That I’ve lost my heart
I’ve thrown it in a ditch
And now I want it for you

Heaven doesn’t exist
We’ve left it to everyone else
A little world of today is enough for me
An infinite world
