In her latest single “Elephant” she rhymes the words “douchebag” with “hashtag”.
And on Wednesday Polish pop sensation Margaret kept the clever tricks going as she unveiled her slick music video for the hip-hop-tinged single.
Wearing a gold jumpsuit she pops and locks on the street as fires burn and cars circle, but she ain’t bothered. She’s too busy channeling Rihanna and singing about our favourite African mammal: Dumbo dum diddy dumbo dum…
The “Cool Me Down” singer unveiled the track at Poland’s ESKA Music Awards in August, where she had men dressed as elephants dropping it like it was hot and thrusting to that thrusting beat.
The elephants come into play in the video as well, with men and women dressed in glamorous animal headpieces as they take selfies, play on their smartphones, throw it down on the dance floor and steal peanuts at the club. All in a night’s work, y’all….
The song’s lyrics suggest Margaret is struggling to deal with her rather annoying other half, who frequently leaves her frustrated. We’d be annoyed too if dude came home dressed as an elephant.
“You’re such a douchebag, Comin’ in here, messin’ up all my space,” she says “Put down your hashtag, killin’ my zen, Now it’s all like a haze, You make me go, so jungle-land in my head I wanna scream, ‘You, leave!’, but instead you go, Dumbo dum diddy dumbo dum..” Basically, he’s stuck in her head.
As with “Cool Me Down” there’s real earworm quality here and we’re pretty sure some of you will be doing the elephant trunk dance she busts out in the live performance. We could maybe do without the slightly creepy elephant masks though…

I’m very dissapionted by wiwibloggs. My yesterday’s comment was the whole night under modateration and today it’s gone.

– margaret manufaktura 2016 – and make your own opinion if the „queen” can win ESC.
Micha? Szpak- genius !!!!!! Margaret beautiful playback !!!!!
To all haters saying she can’t sing live, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Dyr1NiEif4 . And watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOHNeBsRhYI if you think that she is only a ‘product’.
Sure, we’re ALL beautiful in Poland 😉
@ #TeamJustin
I’m afraid I have some bad news for ya
http://www.billboard.com/artist/307877/loreen/chart?f=2048 Loreen hit #7 on the same chart
@an esc fan True. Polish people are some of the most attractive people I’ve seen.
Seriously? “Realness” again? I’m still waiting for the day when we see a headline about a former ESC participant delivering “fakeness” !!!
Even if I don’t like her music, I wonder if in Poland is anybody ugly. It looks that in Poland is illegal to be ugly (male or female). You are all good looking, I saw football team at Euro 2016 and it looked like the Mister Univers.
@Pollaski and how many other ESC artists can make that claim? Not even Loreen made such an impact here unlike Margaret.
O_o Musical genius?
Freddie Mercury was a musical genius. Michal Szpak seems like a pretty decent human being, but that is about it, honestly. Also could you guys please stop posting about how amazing you think Michal Szpak is whenever wiwibloggs reports about Margaret’s successes? 🙂
@ #TeamJustin
Don’t get too excited. She got to fourteenth on the “Emerging Artists” chart, which is calculated via Twitter shares. She debuted at #14, and was gone the next week. That’s barely a notice, unfortunately.
She can’t sing live, and in ESC she would not be in final.
Here’s a musical genius. Dream on and Michal Szpak (approx. 7 min.)

I don’t know. I just do not know!
@Napaw She would’ve won!!!! She even made it into the freaking US Billboard charts’ lists as a singers to watch out for!!! All without Eurovision!!!!
This song is incredibly catchy. In fact I’m glad we have an artist like Margaret who could actually break into the international market. Otherwise we do not have much to offer in the musical department. The Polish simply love wailing and ballads.
Too bad we’ll never know if she would have won this years’ Eurovision.
Love the song. Catchy, good beats. Very irreverent.
That rhino’s a jackass.
I am from Poland but I don’t like Margaret. For me she is not a singer, she’s just an artificial product. When she sings life, she’s misearble.
