She narrowly escaped another elimination on The X Factor UK. Now Finnish star Saara Aalto has opened up to Piers Morgan about her second time being in the bottom three.
Making an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Saara shared her Motown week deadlock experience and told host Piers just what she thought of controversial rapper Honey G.
Piers outed himself as a Saara fanboy, gushing that “You might be the single most famous singer that Finland has ever produced.” But Saara took his compliment well, saying she wasn’t actually sure if she was a big deal in Finland yet.
When asked what it was like being in the bottom three while novelty rapper Honey G was sailing through, Saara was diplomatic. She said that she didn’t know enough about rap to rate the hip-hopper.
But Piers wasn’t having it, asserting that “I’ve listened to Honey G and you, and you’re ten times better than she is.”
Saara was looking on the bright side. She said that she was grateful that viewer votes had kept her from going home, after the judge’s deadlock. “Gradually people are starting to know me and I’m so happy, I’m so grateful.”
Saara will have another chance to win over more of the Great British public with her performance on the upcoming diva week. And we know she can turn on the diva!
@Chicken Kyiv I’d call it a draw. Snoop’s been awful for about ten years now. He’s gotten so far away from what made him good, I wouldn’t be shocked if even he doesn’t know now. As far as Honey G, I made the mistake of looking her up on YouTube. She’s ungodly awful. She sounds every bit like you think a mumbly mouthed British grandma trying to rap would sound like. There’s not even a novelty factor. So yeah, Piers is right, Aalto is ten times better. I listened to her too- she’s got a nice voice, and good stage… Read more »
Who knows more about being an urban artist. Snoop Dogg or Piers Morgan. I’ll let you talk that out amongst yourselves
why is she acting so excited if she’s already been on UMK and the Voice of Finland already :/ :/ :/
Some people seem to be upset.
Hello!! The X Factor UK has produced world-class artists ranging from One Direction to Leona Lewis, and for Saara Aalto to be potentially the next world-class artist would be awesome!!!
I’ll be honest. There are very few non-Americans in the world who can successfully pull off rap. (Hell, there’s few Americans that can actually pull off rap). So when Piers says she’s ten times better than Honey Boo Boo G Thang or whatever, I’ll believe him.
I love the articles. Cheers wiwi. I have to admit I do skip through the complaint comments. I do t really read those. But I like having an opinion myself.
Keep up the good work.
Oh my god. I don’t get many commenters on this website. There’s always some level of complaining about the contents and subject matter of any article – as if someone was pointing a gun to their head forcing them to read wiwibloggs. Its ridiculous! We should be happy that wiwibloggs is being kept updated during this dead period of esc-related news stories. There won’t be any real interesting esc related news articles for a couple more months, so what do you all expect wiwibloggs to post until then?? Because i’m sure if they weren’t posting ANYTHING at all, the same… Read more »
It’s a shame that somebody appears to be putting a gun to your heads and forcing you to read all this Saara articles. If only you had some sort of free will to scroll on by.
Personally, I really appreciate all the coverage Wiwi provides, no matter how obscure! Thanks.
I love the Saara Aalto news… please keep it coming…
I hope she uses this new promotion to enter Eurovision 2017….
Saara please give UMK another go in 2017…. or perhaps she can enter for the UK?! I know they are looking for entries to their national final!
“You might be the single most famous singer that Finland has ever produced.”
That would be Tarja Turunen, not some girl that coldn’t even make it to the ESC.
Let’s Wiwiblogs talk about Saara, she is a great singer, I love your Saara Aalto articles¡¡
No more SAARA ALTO please
@Robyn Gallagher
Here in The Netherlands, The Voice is about to start.
Last year, O’G3NE won, who are rumoured to represent The Netherlands this year. Also, Ilse DeLange was a coach (part of Common Linnets).
This year, Waylon is a coach (other half of Common Linnets, 2014).
It’s not really important or something but it’s quite interesting (Ilse isn’t a coach this year)
MTD, well said. Wiwibloggs basically writes any article about anyone from Eurovision and Saara (as a part of The X Factor) is a trending topic in UK as for the fans of the show.
But still: Saara this, Saara that. Just stop.
Is this Saarablog or I am missing something?
There are tons of other ESC stars that went auditioning and on shows in differeng, mainly East countries, but I don’t see Wiwi following them religiously. Nor do I wanna see them.
Seriously, stop.
If only the British public agreed with you Davve……saara wouldn’t be in the bottom 3 twice in a row
There is something about Saara that is just adorable. You really like her from the start.
