He’s the charming singer flying the flag for Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
And on Friday, after touring the length and breadth of Europe in recent weeks, Nathan Trent turned his attention to domestic promotion, performing his Eurovision song “Running On Air” on Dancing Stars, the Austrian version of the international Dancing With The Stars franchise.
In a marked change to his promo party appearances, Nathan traded in his casual look for a more formal black blazer, which he paired with a white tee. and finely-tailored trousers that hugged him in all the right places. Is this swerve on style a hint of how he might dress in Kyiv?
NATHAN TRENT PERFORMS ON DANCING STARS
Unlike the show’s contestants, who samba and cha-cha with a professional dancer, Nathan performed alone on the dancefloor. But that didn’t stop him from having plenty of fun with the camera, ensuring that fans watching at home felt the positive vibes he channeled in the performance.
The performance may have been simple but the screen behind him took us to cloud nine. That’s because it transitioned from a tropical island to clouds, mirroring the song’s chorus. Although the lighting may have been a little dark for such a fun song, Nathan’s performance definitely warmed things up.
After the performance, he was joined on stage by Eurovision 2015 host Mirjam Weichselbraun, who hosts Dancing Stars on ORF.
NATHAN TRENT’S ROAD TO EUROVISION
There’s now less than two weeks until Nathan’s first rehearsal on Tuesday May 2 in Kyiv. But homeboy isn’t taking things easy before Eurovision fortnight begins.
As well as appearing at the Wien Mitte shopping mall to perform and meet fans, he also caught up with German Eurovision 2017 act Levina.
The two briefly covered international star Bruno Mars’s track “Treasure”.
