For the past month, the votes for the OGAE Poll 2017 have been coming in — and they’re not stopping today. Right now it’s the turn of OGAE Albania and OGAE Italy. And most excitingly, OGAE Italy is the one country that can’t vote for “Occidentali’s karma”. Nail-biting drama! Can you guess where their 12 points went? Eurovision thrills galore!
First up is OGAE Albania, who gave their top points to fan favourites — 12 points to Italy, ten points to Belgium and eight points to Sweden. They also very generously gave seven points to the UK, which has more than doubled Lucie Jones’ overall score.
Then it was the turn of OGAE Italy. Unlike every other country voting in the OGAE Poll 2017, Italy can’t vote for the overall favourite, “Occidentali’s karma”. Instead they really broke with convention and gave their 12 points to Portugal. Their ten points went to France and their eight points went to Israel. Italy also had some small points to give to Hungary and Austria, with four and two points heading to Joci and Nathan respectively.
In the overall scoreboard, Italy still holds the lead with 347 points. Belgium is in second place with 241, while Sweden is third with 230. Rounding out the top five is France in fourth place with 188 points and Estonia not far behind on 164 points.
The biggest change in the overall scores is the UK. Their points boost from Albania has seen the UK go from 27th to 20th place.

Who on earth cares about OGAE votes ????
Real fans of this blog.
We looks like real fans need to get a life
Portugal will end up in bottom 5 if it qualifies which I doubt it will.
I’ll give you odds of 4-1 that neither of those come about…..it will qualify easily and make top ten…at least.
You haven’t been following, have you? Plus, since the semifinals were implemented (2004, 2005?), every time Portugal went to the final (sure, only 3 times) they were never lower than 20th and even got a 2nd place in the 2008 semi final. Sure, they don’t have a lot of countries voting for them on a regular basis, but that is exactly why it is a big deal every time they are able to go to the final (because when it happens, you know it’s about the song and performance, and not because of votes from neighbors, etc.).
Tu opinion y la de ogae son intrascendentes
Haters like you don’t vote to hate… There are no votes to dislike.
Curious … Portugal receives 12 points from an OGAE and the image that appears is that of Francesco. Someone from Wiwibloggs does not like Portugal.
Well, I guess this time it was really about the suspense. So that you wouldn’t know who received the Italian 12 pts until we read the article (even though we all knew it already xP). I don’t think Robyn hates Portugal. Why would anyone hate Portugal, really? Not only the performance, but as a country. It’s beautiful and peaceful.
Ok, good idea. Sorry.
Italy, not only gave us an amazing song this year, but also showed us they really have a good taste. Loving their top. Portugal, France, Hungary, Finland… For me is just missing Azerbaijan (and of course Italy itself).
I knew they had good taste when last year they did this

Love from Portugal <3
Yes, I do remember! The Foos actually came and played, after this thing..
They replied it some other times, with other songs. One was “Smells like teen spirit”.. Yesss.

Omg, guys thank you so much for these videos.
Crying like a baby. That’s amazing.
Typical Italian voting! No surprise.
Italians as always demonstranting a profund cognition of music and its essence. Not unlike the extremely biased Wiwi jury composed by swedish lobbies.
Well done. We’re together in this. Amar pelos Dois and Occidental’s Karma, two phenomenal songs!! Learn from this exemples you culture sellouts!!
“Italians as always demonstranting a profund cognition of music and its essence. Not unlike the extremely biased Wiwi jury composed by swedish lobbies.”
That made no sense. Perhaps you meant to say “Not LIKE the extremely biased…”? Or are you being sarcastic?
Besides, in what sense is the Wiwi jury ‘composed by swedish lobbies’?
And you are displaying the usual Italian boastful and inflated ego… Italian butts need some serious kicking.
Pgonc….it’s a metaphor reference to Romeo and Juliet and the hardships of finding keeping and losing love.
Thank you.
Nice metaphor, but a bit far-fetched for the average eurovision viewer (me included).
I’m sure that Italy will win, but I think that, with the right staging (and according with all the OGAE polls), Estonia might be the biggest surprise of the year.
Lovely top from Italy, grazie per gli 10 punti, I hope Alma’ll have a good result… I Really liked your artists for Sanremo (Michele Bravi, élodie, Bianca, Alessio et Francesco) It’ll be nice to have you hosting it. Maybe in Milan, Turin or Florence. Baci e buona fortuna a FRANCE..SCO ! Heyhey 😛 -_^ Muaaaaaaaaaah ! <3
Florence would be SO nice, since it’s my city 😉 I think the ideal city would be Sanremo, but sadly there are no venues large enough!
Check this video – israel always sing
“i feel a live” in Ukraine:)

Haha! That’s true, and quite funny. 😀
Also true is that Slovenia’s Omar Naber and Estonia’s Laura both previously took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, in Kiev/Kyiv. That city must love them!
I’m a little bit disappointed with all the hate on this website. People should use their energy in a positive way and not spreading all their hate around every post they find. About the OGAE votes… I think Italy nailed it. At this moment, my top 5 would be: 1 – Italy 2 – Portugal 3 – France 4 – Belgium 5 – Estonia (although the lyrics sound strange to me – can anybody, please explain me if the “Verona” reference makes any sense. Is it a cultural thing? I’m lost in translation. In french it sounds really awkward and… Read more »
It’s a reference to Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, which is set in Verona.
(Before the romance turned to drama, Like Romeo and Juliet once before,
We are lost in Verona)
@pgonc: “Verona” = “The love we had in our youth.” Specifically, Verona is known to fans of Shakespeare as the place where “Julliet’s balcony” exists; a key romantic part of the play “Romeo & Juliet” – this is an actual balcony in Verona, Italy. Rightly or wrongly, many people go there to experience the romantic location. As for this song, it is about a couple that found love at a very young age, just like Romeo & Juliet (who were only supposed to be about 14). As this couple gets older, they are constantly “building and burning down love,” desperately… Read more »
Thank you very much.
Even though I read some Shakespeare’s plays in university and I’ve been to Verona a couple of times, it didn’t strike me immediately the meaning of the reference.
I hope viewers around Europe aren’t as ignorant as me and vote for Estonia. Really nice song.
Good luck Estonia!
When I read about that Verona song I just can’t prevent myself of thinking about that one : https://youtu.be/nW-5VVuWDYU
Author of this song produces songs like he is somekind of manufactury or factory. Lyrics and Sound being cheesy is given in his songs..
Author of the song Sven Lohmus was inspired to write the song about the singer’s flopped marriage and divorce
Thanks italy for the high score for israel..
Its a pity that italy have annoying and arrogant pepole like @polegend Godgarina…… but no one is perfect.
Mariah Carey – Obsessed.mp3
Yay. I’m happy with my country votes – Italy (and I think they will more or less match our televote points as well). Portugal is my number one too (excluding Italy) and it’s the only alternative winner (to our entry) I’ll never fuss about. The Portuguese entry is so relatable for us and exotic at the same time, I love it. Good luck Portugal!
I’m so glad we give points also to Hungary, France, Finland and Estonia too. I’ll miss Belarus and Azerbaijan in this top but I’m good with the overall votes.
Yes Italy, vote for your biggest contender, Portugal.
Like in 2015 – for Sweden.
Do it to yourself again.
In 2015 Sweden was 8th in our televote, it was our juries boosting it (the same happened in many other countries).
And? It’s honorable to vote for something you like rather than playing games for victory, don’t you think? A lot of people and countries do that.
Oh, come on, Do you want an honorable fail for Francesco, right.
Of course you want your country to win, is natural, is part of the game.
Of course I want my country to win this year (I didn’t want it to win every year). But people who vote from home are voting what they like regardless what is more dangerous for their victory (or at least I hope so), and juries should just be juries (I know that they are not and that there are political things behind and yada yada yada but I still hope that jurors will judge esc song with honesty). 🙂
I’m glad Albania appreciated UK’s amazing song.
Italy is obviously slaying in the OGAE poll! It will definetely be a huge win!!
I love how OGAE Italy voted!
They obviously follow their own path! They don’t follow the masses and they don’t take into account the favourites.
I don’t think portugal will win, but these 12 ponints there… they gave me life!! Well done Italy!
Estonia still slays! Hope for the same for the grand final!
Thank you italy and also Albania for the points to israel:) we have Italian israeli international star – Moran Atias – maybe italy will ask her to host next year Eurovision:)
Israel born Raz Degan just won Celebrity Survivor with the biggest ever televote landslide here in Italy haha
Really? I remember him as a model in israel, he is so hot..i guess Italians love israelis, also you always vote for us in eurovision.Do you know Moran Atias?
For all the Italian fans of the Portuguese entry, check this out:
http://media.rtp.pt/festivaldacancao/videos/entrevista-salvador-luisa-sobral-italiano/
Maybe a version in Italian of the song some day? That would be great…
Enjoy
Oh, thanks!
This I’ve enjoyed so much…
You’re welcome. And thanks for the passionate support!
Salvador is heterosexual but he wants to win so much that he understood the way to do that is to say that ”love has no gender”. Yes love has no gender, but he says that only because he knows is the trick to win, he is hypocrite. He plays the game in such a clumsy way. And you will like him even more, right(?), even knowing he was lying all the time.
And you know that how…?
To know what? The information is real, some people even think Salvador is bisexual. I don’t think he is bisexual, he just said what is expected from him to say : that ”love has no gender”. He plays the game, because he wants to win.
It depends on how people vote. If they vote for the song (in a “song contest”) then your point would have no relevance. But if it’s a PR contest, it might be relevant.
Wow, who would have thought that TV GUIA* had a reporter lurking at wiwi blogs? Do they pay you well, ipek?
*Portuguese tabloid
Inform dreq yourself.
If there is something that we cannot say about Salvador is that he is scheming and sly. On the contrary, he always says what he feels in the moment he feels it, at the risk of not being politically correct and often being misinterpreted or misquoted. The accurate translation of what he said in an interview to a Portuguese newspaper a few weeks ago, where he was having a conversation with another Festival da Canção performer (Lena d’Água) was: http://www.noticiasmagazine.pt/2017/lena-dagua-e-salvador-sobral-uma-entrevista-improvavel/ START Notícias Magazine Question: Do you fall in love easily? Lena d’Água – Yes. I have fallen in love 1000… Read more »
He’s smart. Eurovision became a gay parade and most of gays just enjoy pop and divas. If you don’t have pop and divas, try something else to manipulate them.
Go Salvador!
Really nice family! They speak english, spanish and italian perfectly. I’m waiting for an interview in french. 🙂
Agree, would be nice to see. Apparently Salvador is learning French and would like to move to Paris in the near future he said in another interview. So, for an interview in French we will have to wait a bit longer, heheh
I can’t wait, I want that interview now.
@ipeq
what for? so that you can misquote him again? 😉
Thank you, Italy! I was secretly hoping for this.
Love from Portugal.
Grazie italy and Shalom from Israel.
i love italy and the most beautiful language in the world – Italian of course.
This year belong to italy big time.
Thank you our good Italian friends, you deserved to win in 2015 and you deserve now and you will win.see you next year in Roma or Milan 🙂
How didn’t Serbia get any points yet? This is ridiculous! Plus obviously Italy will win because OGAE are that predictable.
I agree. That is rather strange… I like Serbia’s entry too and would have thought it would be a favourite of the fans…
My country serving TASTE. Estonia, France and Portugal <3
T-A-S-T-E.
Period.
🙂
When it’s right, it’s right. Period !
Italy (1st), Portugal(2nd) and France(4th) in my top! I hope the victore is among them, or Switzerland, which is my 3rd haha
Hey-Hey Vic (or the user that goes by this nick) and Portuguese friends… What did I tell you??? Portugal douze points :-))) Keep note, please: until now Italian’s club is the only one giving their twelve to Portugal… I didn’t even take part in the voting, but I knew our exquisite taste… 😉 And… As you can see, Italy proudly doesn’t follow the masses (Belgium, Bulgaria, Sweden…). And Estonia….. Wow! I’d put it before Israel but it’s ok… Must be an oversight![just kidding ;)] You can all be as mean as you want towards Italians (see every post about Francesco),… Read more »
Grazie Italia
Hai sempre avuto un ottimo gusto musicale 😀
Thank you Italy
You always had excellent musical taste 😀
<3 Portugal <3 Italy <3
I’m from Spain and since our song this year is bad, I support my neighbours Italy, Portugal and France (It’s a coincidence they truly are my favourite songs) haha :PP Good luck!
You’re welcome.
It’s all your fault, you know???
You could have just send a banal song and get totally bypassed, but…
Well done 🙂
My message is addressed to Azzzul 😉
@Elle 😀 you mean “get totally bypassed” as always, right? 😀 Yes, Elle, you are very right. And we Portuguese have to thank RTP because they really have tried to organize a REAL MUSIC contest this year. And, although a few divas and screamers we there too, we Portuguese music lovers (jury and televoters) recognized the best song (and the best performer). Let us hope that Eurovision follows RTP path and enhance music for what it is, who knows, bringing back live orchestras again?… (by the way, Italy does not have to worry about that, your songs have always been… Read more »
😀
I’d go right now for a live orchestra!
But I think it’s a bit expensive and chaotic with more than 40 contestants, unfortunely 🙁
Yes, the minor exceptions being called: Emma Marrone 0_0′
**unfortunately**
“As you can see, Italy proudly doesn’t follow the masses (Belgium, Bulgaria, Sweden…).”
LOL!
“The masses” are the same that have given plenty of 12s to Italy so far.
I know… Because it’s part of the few real different and original songs!
Sorry, I’ve tried to look at the songs I’ve mentioned hundreds of time. They are well-written and contemporary, no doubt. Fashionable, I’d say. But contemporary doesn’t mean original. Not at all! Paradox: when EVERYONE goes for the “Ohhh, it’s so modern beat!!”, Estonia and Portugal (or Italy) automatically become the most original song in the contest, beacuse the’re different in the sense that they don’t follow the “contemporary statement tha masses use to value a song.
Bar last year the UK seem to do well in the OGAE every year even if they sent a farting dog….
From now on the OGAE will begin to listen to the song of Portugal.
Italy kings and queens of having good taste!!! Portugal deserves those 12 points.
Wow congratulations robyn has managed to write that Alma gets points !! I hope she didn’t vomit doing that because she was obliged
You need to get a life!
I can’t, I love you even more now haha. I do that too sometimes, no one ever notices!
Oh shut up, you’re just as much of a no-lifer as sockman is.
@Ariana: I know Polegend outside of Wiwibloggs; he’s not that bad. Maybe a bit “immature” sometimes, but I love him anyway. 😛
That’s a shade.
@Ipek: No; It’s a comment about how I actually feel. I feel that Ariana was judging Polegend too harshly. A little immaturity does not always amount to being a “no-lifer;” that’s out of proportion and inaccurate. Is that clearer?
Omg, Robyn you’re a genius. That’s sassiness and cleverness combined. Love you even more now. Best reply to haters ever <3
@Robyn Gallagher: Fantastic! Love it! 🙂
That was genious!!
Ahahahah love you Robyn XD That was awesome. Double challenge: please do it with I-T-A-L-Y and P-O-R-T-U-G-A-L in the next article.
I’m so happy. France, Portugal and Hungary in the Italian Top 10. Missing Belarus though.
=D
Eh eh… La classe non è acqua…
@Dana Israel gave italy 12 point’s in 2015
I think this year also the Duz Pua from israel will go to italy.
What a joke. A bad Song give 12 plints to a bad Song. Im surprice that Italy not give them self 12 plints. And give Belgium and Sweden low plints. Are Italy afraid of them.
“The song” didn’t give point to anyone. It’s a club (you know, an ensemble of real people) that votes for the song its members like.
Now I understand everything. So is not the song that gives points?
Thank you for this brilliant contribution to the universal knowledge.
Which is exactly what I was saying to Hi (but I know not everyone is fluent in irony ;)). My turn to thank you for your brilliant contribution, smartass. 😉
You are such a pathetic person. You’re writing below Sweden’s article “Its so many haters here. Why are you hate altime. Stop hate. Its always the same people. Its not my favorite, but stop HATE” And you’re spreading so much hate below EVERY country than Sweden, because you are from Sweden, right? Why is not here “report” button, ’cause you are very annoying.
Michaela, questo è oligofrenico. Non vedi che non sa mettere due parole sensate accanto? Direi di ignorarlo e bona.
Sorry, I’m not italian 😀
Haha I’m just advising you to ignore his blatant trolling
Italy gavetta 12 pointillisme to Sweden when they win over IlVolo… …just to let you know!
Yaaas! Thank you OGAE Albania for giving points to the UK’s Lucie Jones! x
Italy’s points are really interesting – Portugal gets the 12 from them; that is a surprise (and perhaps a sign)! Also, Israel have done better than expected. And the good run for Estonia continues – could Estonia have been underrated by the experts?
Portugal is bound to be loved by the Italians. If we ignore the diaspora countries (Romania, Albania, Ukraine, Poland), I think it’ll be the favorite of the ethnic Italian televoters.
What means ”ethnic Italian”? Normal Italians? I doubt that you are so brainwashed to like ”Amar pelos dois”. I’ve had a better opinion about Italian tastes. And will not hurt to give some points to Ukraine, even Poland, even Romania, maybe not the naked ape Albania, but Portugal why ????
Amar pelos dois reflects many average ethnic Italians’ taste, just look at our voting history – we appreciate quality ballads, and we looove to hear weird languages. I’m sorry you don’t like it.
Not only that I don’t like it, but is the biggest contender for Italy, but sure that Italy will give 12(24) points to Portugal, just like it gave 12 points to Sweden in 2015. You deserve your faith if you keep voting for your ”enemy”.
Your argument is to vote only for strategic reasons, then?
This is a OGAE vote, it’s not the final vote of a country. People can be completly honest and say who they love. Portugal loves the italian song and it seems the love is mutual. In the end this countries can vote differently, but right now I’m just happy that strategy is not the main concern, but MUSIC.
#francesogabbani #salvadorable
Estonia?! Seriously?
Estonia will be the real surprise of the year, maybe not the winner but will place really high.
I highly doubt that it will place higher than Bulgaria. This is such BS. Maybe Belgium or Italy, but definitely not Estonia. They wasted the smallest chance they had when they lost Kerli. I doubt that they will even qualify from the second semi-final.
No one knows how their heavily changed performance/stage show looks alike.. They might surprise us with it and thus qualify.
Italy always give points to israel, i remember in 2015 italy gave israel 8 point’s in the fainal.
Thank you italy , Good luck i hope you will win.
