In 2014 she brought the sunshine to Copenhagen and in 2016 she opened the inaugural Wiwi Jam.
And now Portugal’s Suzy has her sights set on a place on the Spanish version of The Voice — and thanks to her fans, she’s one step closer to getting there.
Back in April, the Iberian goddess revealed her desire to conquer La Voz. She asked for her fans to help her reach the next stage by voting on the online platform, which would help the broadcaster whittle down the hopefuls. This week a professional jury selected Suzy to advance to the next phase: the local semi-finals!
Suzy has a long journey ahead of her, but she’s a true soldier, ready to slay this contest.
OMG…I was chosen!! No puedo creer, el jurado ha me elegido!!! Quién puede estar presente día 25? Es abierto para toda la gente. pic.twitter.com/mu8g2It4Al

Suzy managed to earn a total of 2,669 votes and placed 38th among the 899 applicants for the Alcorcon regional group in which she’s competing.
Understanding “Gana con tu voz” (“Win with your voice”)
Just like the Eurocasting round of Spain’s national selection, “Gana con tu voz” is the preliminary online round to win a chance to get into the final casting for La Voz. Welcome to another convoluted process!
From each regional group, a total of 50 candidates are selected to move on to the next phase. Three of them are chosen by fans with their votes, while the other 47 hopefuls are selected by a professional jury. All of them will face each other at local semi-finals, in every city in which the competition is taking place.
But wait, there’s more!
All the survivors from the semi-finals – just 20 acts – will need to battle and sing their heart out on local finals. Only one can win, and the winner takes it all: both the chance to get into the final casting for La Voz and the opportunity to record a single produced by Tony Sánchez Ohlsson (composer and producer of Pastora Soler’s “Quedate Conmigo” and Edurne’s “Amanecer”).
Good luck, Suzy!

Suzy mesmerised the jury with a cover of “Rise Like a Phoenix”. And now, the Portuguese pop starlet is on her way to make her dream come true.
After making it to the semi-finals, she will be competing on May 25 at 5 pm in Madrid’s TresAguas Shopping Center. Make sure to join her. The semi-final audience is open to everyone who wants to enjoy the show!

The Apple Watch 3 is the most important watch is the smartwatch domain to have arrived this year. Indeed, this is one of the few smartwatches which will arrive with the Micro LED display which is the one thing we need in orde to check the display under bright sunlight. There is a need for such smartwatches this year as well.
My god… How can “record a single produced by Tony Sánchez Ohlsson” be a prize? Hahahaha! pls… It’s more like a punishment. ‘Quedate conmigo’ was the last good stuff he did. In fact, the song wasn’t that good, Pastora elevated it! I hope he really never returns to Eurovision (he said that after Mirela’s defeat)
I never like Suzy. Portugal has a lot of much more talanted and intresting singers. 2014 was a rare year, when I didn’t support Portugal
let me guess…you´re portuguese? lol
I don’t know if she’s Portuguese, but if you knew Portuguese and understood the context in which that song was chosen, you’d get why it’s pure garbage.
Nonetheless, she seems like a fun person, and she did promote Emanuel’s song like no other Portuguese contestant. I wish Salvador had at least 1% of her enthusiasm towards Eurovision. She’d make a cool host next year.
im sorry theres nothing you can teach me about Festival da Cançao 2014.
Suzy is one of those acts who would deserve to return to Eurovision one day WITH A BETTER SONG. “Quero ser tua” was okay, but it felt kinda bland/boring/silly/uninteresting in comparison to the other entries in a year as strong as 2014. Suzy has a great stage personality, she just needs an entry that is more personal and more exciting.
I still love Suzy, she totally deserved to be in the final
Go Suzy wa wa we wawe
Suzy would be a great choice for either hosting or performing the host entry at the Eurovision 2018.
YASS
Maybe for the green room. The problem is that RTP is not so fond of her… I wish her all the best of luck.
