It served as host of Eurovision 2013 and is a fixture on the Melodifestivalen calendar every year.
And on Saturday night, Malmö will play host to Melodifestivalen 2019 Semi-Final 2.
Seven acts will take to the stage, two will advance to the final, two to Andra Chansen and three will advance no further than the stage of the Malmö Arena.
You’ve heard the snippets and now we’ve seen the rehearsals too. Or 30-second snippets of them at least.
Andreas Johnson has a rock roadie posse with him on stage, while Malou Prytz plays tribute to Cher from Clueless.
Oscar Enestad has a light up cube, Jan Malsmjö has a street lamp and backing dancers, and Vlad Resider has a mix of the two.
Hannah Ferm & LIAMOO‘s performance tests the ancient proverb that life in plastic is fantastic. And closing the show Margaret has a high tech stage show to share with Sweden.
But before she shares that with Sweden, we want to know what you think. Maybe you’ve been an Andreas Johnson fan all along? Or perhaps Oscar Enestad has won you over? Or maybe Hannah Ferm & LIAMOO are your firm favourites? Whatever you think, we want to hear from you!

Though I like Malou Prytz the most, but she’s not going anywhere. Also like Jan Malmsjö but he is a dead horse.
Agree, althog I would want Andreas to the final, but think that andra chansen is more realistic to hope fore. Hope Jan won’t lose the text etc. Risk för att skämskudden måste fram och man kommer lida med honom. Repen verkar varit katastrof, missar texten och hittar inte kameran. Stackars Jan.
My top 3 are for sure: Oscar, Liamoo & Hanna Ferm and Margaret not sure in which order though…
And then I would also place Malou and Andreas Johnson on 4th and 5th place.
And the last two acts aren’t bad, but not for more than 5th place.
My choices would be DTF: Hanna & Liamoo , Margaret AC: Jan Malmsjo, Andreas Johnson 5th: Vlad Reiser 6th: Malou Prytz 7th: Oscar Enestad No winner in this semi that’s for sure. I enjoy the 4 I picked and they could go either way on Saturday on my top. I find Vlad’s , Malou’s and Oscar’s songs all pretty similar in style and I dont particularly enjoy any of them at the moment. Hanna and Liamoo’s song has a potential. I have no problem seeing them win it in the end.
Jan Malmsjö is the only one who stands out.
I think Hanna and Liamoo are the only standouts here. It’s a great ballad and they have great vocals and such a nice chemistry.
So the point is to look for a eurovision winner in first hand. And not the winner of Melodifestivalen and a good representative of Sweden. Ok.
The winner is not coming out from this semifinal.

Two semi-finals in and there hasn’t been anything that sounds like a Eurovision winner. So many generic songs that I feel as though I’ve heard them 1,000 times before. Wiktoria is my favourite so far but her song is far from a Eurovision winner.
Talk about high expectations of Sweden. Every year it’s like this! I find it cruel and the pressure from fans is really insane!
Well, Sweden are the ones who put on the biggest pre-selection for Eurovision and they’re constantly amongst the favourites to win the competition.
Yes Milla, those who think that the standard has been so much higher every week in melfest an other year, please give me the year and manage to make more than 10 escfans to agree whith you.
