It’s the Estonian national selection that stirs massive hype within the Eurovision bubble as early as November. And on Wednesday Eesti Laul revealed the draw for the two semi-finals. While fans are more excited about the upcoming Sunday reveal of the 24 participating songs, the semi-final allocation draw has turned up some intrigue of its own.
Fans are already calling Semi-final 1 of the Estonian selection a proper bloodbath. It’s easy to see why. It will include fan favourites like Egert Milder, INGA, Laura, REVALS and STEFAN. STEFAN, you’ll remember, made it to last year’s superfinal, while the other four are widely considered front-runners — despite the fact their songs aren’t even out. The first semi-final will take place on Thursday, February 13.
That’s not to say the second semi-final will be a walk in the park. It includes potential dark horses and a couple of very familiar names. Uku Suviste will be one of the fan favourites here. Suviste finished second in the contest last year. Traffic, another big contender, has made the top three on three occasions over the past decade. And 2019 finalist INGER will also participate in the second semi-final, which will take place on Saturday, February 15.
The final will take place on leap day, February 29, which will fall on a Saturday for the first time since 1992.

Which semi-final do you prefer? Who has the best chance in each semi? Sound off in the comments below!
Rasmus, Uku, Synne Valtri, Traffic
I really think Rasmus is a dark house because he has qualified to the final with his previous two songs and I definitely think Jaagup Tuisk is one to watch out for in Semi final 2.
I think the same about Rasmus. I don’t know why he isn’t even considered as a contender in the 1st SF when he reached the superfinal back in 2017.
Now that the songs are out, I’m pegging Rasmus to walk away with SF1.
Good thing Laura is performing solo this time, cuz her performance with Koit in 2017 was awkward.
Not as awkward as the act and song she was part of in 2005, though. I think Estonia tends to send the wrong Sven Lõhmus songs. He has some decent ones, too but they almost never seem to make it to Eurovision.
also isn’t the song reveal this saturday??
Yes it is
Who downvoted this? Songs ARE revealed this saturday

Laura, Rasmus, Stefan, German & Violina, Anett & Fredi and maybe Traffic and INGA
and Rasmus!
Jaagup will crush it.
i need the estonian readers to reveal who they think will surely qualify for the eesti laul final
@Polegend – based on the respective popularity of both the artists and the songwriters, here’s my best guesstimate as an Estonian for who’s going to qualify from each semi. Semi 1 sure bets: – Stefan – Rasmus Very likely to qualify: – Laura (unknown songwriters are the only reason this isn’t a sure bet yet) Probably completing the list (2 spots and picking 4 artists): – Synne Valtri (off the strength of her popularity despite a shit song) – Inga/Egert Milder/Revals (really torn here but keeping fingers crossed for INGA!) Semi 2 sure bets: – Inger – Traffic Very likely… Read more »
okay i’m estonian and here’s my guess lol
SF1: INGA, Rasmus, Laura, STEFAN, Synne Valtri and Anett x Fredi
SF2: INGER, Jaagup, Traffic, Uku, Uudo and German & Violina
Final: Jaagup. 🙂
your obsession with blonde twinks i-
(and i’m one myself aksjfhk)
Well, to be fair to me, the hair color is a start, but it’s of course primarily the face the hair are attached to that counts haha but I will say that I do believe there’s a critical shortage of blonde twinks making it to Eurovision.
i’m intrigued by inger, her song last year was unremarkable but she came 3rd in the final televote so she seems to be very loved among estonians. she gives me artisté vibes so i hope this year’s song is worthy of winning
Won’t listening to the songs first help?
