lithuania-semi-final 2020

Over the next two weeks, 18 qualifiers from the previous heats will face the semi-finals of Lithuania‘s national selection Eurovizijos Atranka 2020. From the semis, only eight acts will secure a place in the Pabandom iš naujo! final on February 15th. But who should make it to the grand final?

Among the semi-finalists are returning artists such as Aistė Pilvelytė, Gabrielius Vagelis, Monika Marija, Alen Chicco, Petunija, Ruta Loop and The Roop. But the semi-finals will also include plenty of newcomers, hoping to make their mark and go on to represent Lithuania at Eurovision 2020.

Who should be among the lucky eight who will make it to the grand final? Listen to the semi-finalists and vote for your favourites. As always, you can vote for as many acts as you like, but you can only vote once — so choose wisely!

I hope THE ROOP will win and will have a chance to represent Lithuania at ESC.
Great voice, confidence, originality, cachy song and dancemoves! I can see this in the top5 in Rotterdam!
Good luck, THE ROOP from Russia!

Surprised to not see Monika Marija on top. But this is how it should be. As much as I like her as a vocalist. I do not like that country vibe song and it’s not for ESC.

The only song from Lithuania I like is:
Gabrielius Vagelis with Tave cia Randu
I hope he will win the ticket to Rotterdam

Anyone who’s voting for the roop clearly wants Lithuania to fail again

I voted for the opera.
I thought I might be the only one, but I see Viktorija has 63 votes! Not just me then. 🙂
Good luck to them all. I think it’s a great year for Lithuania’s selection.

Lithuania has made some terrible decisions in the past (the last time I agreed with the winner was in 2015) but I’m praying to the Eurovision Gods: please please PLEASE put ‘Make Me Human’ on the Eurovision stage. That song is a work of art and if Lithuania sends something blands to the contest instead of Moniqué, I’d be devestated.

Lots of good options!
I think realistically, based on the voting of the heats, we’re talking about The Roop Vs. Monika Vs. Monique (as an outsider).
Personally, I find it hard to choose between Monique and KaYra.

Because many of my favourites were out in the heats, now I had to pick up Petunija as the 8th option. But I really love every of my another 7 picks! Baltos Varnos are my winners by far tho.

I hope Gabrielius can improve his staging. Really enjoy his song.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been SO on board with the fan favorites, I absolutely love Make Me Human, Tave ?ia Randu, On Fire and We Came From The Sun. Let’s just pray they won’t mess it up by sending Monika for the simple reason that she’s Monika.

Moniqué for the win!???

Gabrielius should win it. Maybe THE ROOP, but I like “Tave cia randu” much better. I don’t really see any other potential option since Monika Marija’s song is bland and Monique’s “Make Me Human” just too plain. Eugenya Redko’s “Far” sounds good but a bit messy, could be a good choice nonetheless. Though the public didn’t seem to like it at all. My 8 predicted finalists (some of them may depend on the draw): Kind of sure qualifiers: – Monique – Make Me Human – Monika Marija – If I Leave – Aisté – Unbreakeable – THE ROOP – On… Read more »

Some solid entries here. Monique would be a good pick, but no one has surpassed Gabrielus for me. I don’t know what people see in The Roop.

Aiste, obviously. (I promise, I’ll only write this line a couple of hundred times more and then I am DONE! )

Like a diamond, the horizon. Unbreakable.

This god-awful song really is catchy in such a bad way.

It sounds like the theme song for a 2000’s romantic comedy about a woman in her late 40s trying to “reconnect to herself” after going through a divorce.

I hate overanalysing songs, so congratulations to THE ROOP for bringing the first song that enters my ESC 2020 playlist and making me hit my replay button. There are some other nice songs there as well, but nothing that really caught my attention.

MM, Monique, Andy Vaic, Gabrielius Vagelis, KaYra, Alen Chicco, Ruta Loop and Viktorija Miškunaite, but it will depend on who’s in which semi. KaYra would especially be the act which could stand out on ESC, cause I don’t believe there will be two in that style. I want for Andy to polish his live performance, because the song has such potential! Monika Marija is probably the best vocalist, though. 🙂

On the other hand, Chemistry – why, Lithuania? Explain yourselves! 🙁

Monique, Barnos Varnos, Monika, Aiste, Kayra, Redko, Gabrielus and Ruta Loop would make the best choices imo. The Roop… idk i dont see what everyone’s seeing, it’s messy and trying to be some sort of avant garde ‘not a joke act but looks like a joke act’ song.

Finally someone who thinks the same a s me. How can you find that song ‘good’. It’s a complete mess: the song itself is bad, the dance is childish and doesn’t leave anything. But we know Lithuanians tend to like rubbish so ok, make it win and stay in the Semi again.

I’m a Lithuania and I cannot stand the song. It’s so much like Fusedmarc, which at the time was also ‘great one’ to Lithuanians and we all know what happened. Jeez, I’d even be ok with Monique not winning if winners weren’t the roop.

Panasu y Fusedmarc?

So the rudest thing I heard this Eurovision season so far was a comparison between the straight up BOP that is “On Fire” to the hot (and also audibly unbearable) mess that was “Rain of Revolution”. HOW DARE YOU.
