Poll results: Mahmood & Blanco are the Sanremo 2022 act you are most excited for before the songs are released

It’s almost time for the Ariston Theater to open its doors to the 25 acts of Sanremo 2022. We’ll hear the songs for the first time on Tuesday 1 February when the first night of the Italian music festival airs.

But while we wait for the entries to drop, we can reveal the one act which has left our readers giddy with anticipation — the duo formed by Mahmood & Blanco!

Mahmood & Blanco are the Sanremo 2022 acts you are most excited for

After counting 4,199 votes, we can confirm that Mahmood & Blanco are the act that’s left y’all gagging hardest. The stars hoovered up support, capturing 1,117 votes — that’s 26.60% of all votes cast.

Mahmood comes back at Sanremo after winning in 2019 with “Soldi”, the song with which he placed as runner up at Eurovision in Tel Aviv. Blanco, a rising star of Italian music, will make his debut at the kermesse paired with his colleague.

Coming second is Irama. The singer picked up 535 votes, less than half the votes of the poll-toppers. That’s 12.74% of all votes cast.

Irama is a Sanremo veteran, previously competing on four occasions. Most recently, he finished fifth with “La genesi del tuo colore” in 2021.

The top three is completed by a star of Italian music who returns to Sanremo 21 years after her only participation, which ended with a victory — Elisa. She takes 7.34% of the tally. That’s 308 votes.
