Eurovision 2022 Schedule 12 March

It’s almost time to pack up the national collections of pyro, glitter and hairspray another year. But before we switch our focus to the main event in Turin, there’s still one last Saturday of national final season to go. And while it’s a relatively quiet night with just three shows to juggle, there is sure to be plenty of drama as Sweden, Iceland and Portugal all choose their songs for Eurovision 2022.You can follow all the results on wiwibloggs (and via our Twitter: @wiwibloggs and Instagram: wiwibloggs) throughout the day. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening, when it’s on and how to watch.

Saturday 12 March: Eurovision 2022 Selection Shows

Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 20:00 CET to 22:00 CET

After six long weeks, the biggest and sparkliest national selection process draws to a close. While this year’s edition is unlikely to go down in the Melfest annals with the all time greats, there were still several diamonds to be found in the rough. The pre-final build-up has seen much of the fan love focused on former Love Generation singer Cornelia Jakobs with “Hold Me Closer”, but entries from Liamoo and Klara Hammarström aren’t to be discounted. And then, of course, there’s Anders Bagge. Will the Swedes vote for the much loved local crooner? Or will they keep their thoughts focused on the big prize in May?

Eurovision’s most westerly national selection wraps up tonight. The grand final of Iceland’s Söngvakeppnin 2022will see five acts battle it out for the chance to represent the Nordic nation in Turin. And don’t be fooled by the small number of finalists. There’s still lots of diversity to be found among the five acts! Ahead of tonight’s show, Reykjavíkurdætur seem to be the ones attracting the most buzz.

Watching Melfest to be disappointed when Cornelia doesn’t win.
