Super Saturday has arrived — and with it the promise of seven new acts for Eurovision 2023. But before the latest confirmed artists sashay into the tent, which previously chosen act is sitting pretty?

Earlier this week we asked you guys to let us know which of the eight confirmed Eurovision 2023 acts was your favourite. You cast a total of 7,294 votes in just four days and we now have a result.

Norway’s Alessandra is your favourite Eurovision 2023 act ahead of Super Saturday

In first place it’s Norway’s Alessandra with her viral hit “Queen of the Kings.” The Italian-Norwegian star has already topped the Spotify Global Viral chart with her number, which channels a strong message of female empowerment. Will this euro-dance, Norwegian fairy tale have the happiest of endings? In our poll she earned a staggering 1,954 votes — or nearly 27% of all those cast.

In second place it’s another recently confirmed act: Blanca Paloma from Spain with “Eaea.” She honours her grandmother with this gorgeous Flamenco number, which pays tribute to Spanish tradition and the musical heritage her grandmother passed on to her. She nabbed 1,639 votes, which is more than 22% of the total.

Both of those acts were chosen in the past week. And so was our third place finisher VESNA from Czech Republic. The “My Sister’s Crown” singers earned 1,369 votes, which is 19% of the overall tally.

Eurovision 2023: Our readers favourites (February 11)

How did your favourite song do with our readers? Do you think any of the acts chosen on Super Saturday can compete with Norway and Spain? Let us know down below!?

Still surprised to see Norway wasn’t disqualified for a blunt and clear plagiarism of Paddy and the Rats‘ “ Ships We Sail”

There not disqualified because the two songs aren’t that similar.

Norway’s Alessandra is the favorite of the typical eurofans and the TikTokers, but the true best and most accomplished entry so far is obviously Spain’s EaEa. Blanca Paloma is a force of nature and she’s got a quite good chance of remaining at the top once all 37 acts are known too.

You don’t have to like the Spanish entry, but anyone who talks crap about EaEa will go on the list of ignorant and uncultured fools this year. Don’t say I didn’t warn you beforehand.

Isn’t that always the case? Sam Ryder last year liked by TikTok fans and Ukraine was politically motivated?
Spain isn’t the best sounding song. It’s technically good but not great on the ear to the pop culture.
Il volo in 2015 best voices bit came 3rd

Well it’s viral around Europe and number 1 in all Spotify categories nearly.
So it must be liked. Spain is screeching and not popular in the modern world as much.
You have to appeal to the young audience or the stop the war folk these days. It’s not about what’s technically better

With all the fan love for Norway this isn’t a surprise; however to me Spain is head and shoulders above the rest, including everything that seems likely to win tonight on Super Saturday.

If this uttermost basic song ends up winning this year, that would be an incredible down step for Eurovision.

It’s not winning. Y’all pls wake up. This will probably do well with viewers (wouldn’t shock me if it flops tho) but the juries will trash this to the pits of infinity. Lets not forget Keiino only came 18th with the juries. And “Queen of the Kings” is nowhere near as good as “Spirit in the Sky”.

No one knows what the televote or juries vote. Many of you said last year that juries wouldnt vote SloMo.
I think Norway has a very good song and a very good singer.

Incredibly overrated but not surprised. It’s about as dated as Ireland only Norway is always a fan favorite. That’s the only difference. As I said before though, the winner hasn’t been picked yet, but fit me, so far, Ukraine and Slovenia are the only actual good songs. Not winners though, but out if the 7 we have, they’re the best. Spain and Norway are ridiculously overrated. Spain 2023 is no different than Spain 2015, yet that was hated on? Why? What’s changed now? Only the fact that we had Chanel last year and Spain changed their selection fans are creaming… Read more »

Aren’t you a bit biased? Shunning Norway and Ireland for picking outdated entries while at the same time saying how great is the Ukrainian entry. In fact, all the three mentioned countries picked mainstream and dated songs we have heard for the hundredth time.

Nope I think Ukraine is incredibly radio friendly.
Norway and Spain are trying to be avant garde and failing at it. IMO.
Spain and Norway belong in ESC 2008, sorry but that’s how I feel.
I do find it laughable though that if some countries pick particular songs, they’re hated, but if other countries pick similar sounding or similar genre songs a year or two later they’re absolutely torn to shreds and obliterated by the fandom.
Oh ESC can be a thing of beauty sometimes.

I actually like Eaea and its not at all like 2015 unless you’re including a very short segment at the start of the chorus. I quite like spains entry this year (coming from an Irish person who doesnt speak Spanish at all). I think the staging in the selection is very effective and intriguing, impeccable vocal and i admire the confidence of Blanca. Its currently my 1st of the songs we have. I do like Ukraine though and dont really understand the hate (unless its that people expected traditional sounds or fan favourites to win, to which I’ll say, like… Read more »

Hmmm… We seem to very different memories of 2015. Firstly that song was completely different in style from “Eaea”, and secondly fans were gushing over it before the ESC instead of hating it.

Well we will agree to disagree. My mind won’t change and it’s not my intention to change yours either, just stating I don’t see the hype behind both entries and stating why. My opinion has never quite synced with “typical” eurofans over the years anyway so I’m not too surprised. Maybe I should start using words like “slay” or “Queen” and start supporting songs with more hair flips, fire and militarised over rehearsed choreo or something I dunno. Anyway to each their own. I will continue to hold my opinion, you will hold yours. I will say that the winner… Read more »

I am not from Spain and from listening to the song i get the feeling of real representation of Spain. To me this is art that only Spanish people can deliver – something of their culture, so I really like it. Norway is just simply a strong entry to me, dated or not. It is a lot power and quality there. Vesna is hyped about, but was really bad live, so I don’t know anymore. I guess we’ll see on a day. I like Ukraine too as well as Slovenia, Belgium and Ireland. Albania is something I can’t listen to.… Read more »

Spain 11,5/12
Slovenia 9/12
Czech Republic 8,5/12
Ireland 8/12
Albania 8/12
Norway 6/12
Ukraine 5/12
Belgium 1/12

By “the noise” of Spain? Being the Spanish entry based on traditional Spanish music dont you think calling It “noise” is a bit disrespectful? Specially when you could have said “Spanish entry” (if you do not evenconsider It “a song”).

I have always liked Spains entries even the traditional ones from many years Azucar Moreno 1990 as one example. But every song should have rhythm or a melody this song does not hence my term noise. Suzanne Adams has just reviewed this song and in the 6 minutes spoken about the staging colours her outfit the moon her grandmother loss but not once did i hear anything about the song other than traditional. It is hard on the ear or at least mine and if you like staging with backing dancers looking in parts like that they are flogging a… Read more »

OF: Duncan Laurence will be a member of the Jurors tonight on the SF2 for #PIN2023. LRT previously announed that during the show Duncan will perform his new song as well. This must be a good sign to have a winner of the ESC within the jury board!

I think once more of the deadwood is chopped out and your last five finalists are chosen, I think lithuania is going to have a nice tight little bundle of songs to choose from.

Who do you want in the final from semifinal two? I think this one’s a little tougher to choose because I like six of them here, but I’m going to have to sacrifice something.

I want to believe that but seeing Il Senso in the final gives me an uncandy taste in the mouth.

I would prioritize Beatrich, Paulina, Mario Junes, Monika Linkyte, and Agne (the last one merely for the sake of variety). It will probably change after the performances are done. I remember last Saturday how drastically I downvoted NOY, even though I saw him advance to the final. He was out of breath during most of the performance, so I think I placed him second to last that night. Who do you want to qualify tonight?

The first four artists you listed are also my picks for the finalists of semi final 2, but I can’t decide between Gebrasy and Agne for my fifth spot. Of course, neither could qualify and somebody else gets through and who would it be, I don’t know. I admit Gebrasy and Agne are not as strong locks as the other four because they are in a vulnerable position. Agne only qualified because of the televote (she got zero points from the jury) and Grebrasy isn’t in a strong position because he only got 6 jury points and 0 points from… Read more »

Let’s see if she can capture both the jury and televote like she did in heat 2. Ruta Mur did win semifinal 1 but that is only because she had the highest combo for she finished second with both jury and televote. Petunija and Il senso where the jury and tell the winners respectfully, but they scored lower in the other for a lower combo.

Personally, I would prefer Beatrich because I think she’d be a great closer for semifinal two where lithuania is assigned to the second half, but whatever happens happens.
