Your daily Eurovision 2023 news bulletin has landed. In the build-up to this year’s song contest kicking off in Liverpool, the team here at wiwibloggs is bringing you all the latest updates from the Eurovision world.

In today’s daily digest, Teya and Salena reveal their Eurovision outfits, and Loreen stays on top of the OGAE Poll 2023. But first…

Eurovision 2023 news round-up: Wednesday 19 April

Finland’s Käärijä has been checking out some of his competition. The “Cha Cha Cha” star watches eight of this year’s entries — Austria, Sweden, UK, Germany, Croatia, France, Spain and Greece. From excitement to disbelief, Käärijä is as ever a bundle of personality whilst giving his take. For those who don’t speak Finnish, there are English subtitles you can turn on. (Jonathan)

Lord of the Lost’s equipment arrives in Liverpool

Lord of the Lost are all set for their performance at Eurovision 2023. The German band shared a clip on Twitter showing that their equipment has arrived in Liverpool ahead of rehearsals that start in a couple of weeks. Now the question is: Which country will be using the stairway we also get a glimpse of? (Jonathan)

BBC announce TV specials for Eurovision with Daði Freyr and Cheryl Baker

The BBC has announced its content plans for Eurovision in May. This year’s host broadcaster will celebrate the contest with “wall to wall” entertainment across two weeks of Eurovision mania. Amongst the content is a special edition of Pointless featuring Iceland’s Daði Freyr, and a special episode of EastEnders starring The Fizz’s Cheryl Baker.

Teya and Salena reveal their Eurovision outfits

Austria’s Teya and Salena are getting ready to bring the work of Edgar Allan Poe to the Eurovision stage, and now we know what they’ll be wearing as they do so. The pair have ditched the retro styling of their music video and are instead going for something much more contemporary. Both will be wearing a jacket and trouser combo – Teya in black and Salena in white, but they’re brought together by red tops and gloves. (Jonathan)

Ellie Goulding sends support to Norway’s Alessandra

The love for Alessandra keeps rolling in. Today on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 show, British singer Ellie Goulding reacted to some Eurovision tracks — and expressed her love for Norway’s Alessandra. The “Love Me Like You Do” songstress said: “It kind of reminds me of Queen or something”.

Loreen continues to lead the OGAE Poll 2023 as Käärijä gains ground

The OGAE Poll 2023 continues. Sweden’s Loreen remains on top with the biggest Eurovision fan club vote, with Finland’s Käärijä gaining ground in second after receiving another two sets of 12 points from Austria and Andorra. Thirteen countries remain on zero points, including last year’s Eurovision champions Ukraine.

I‘ll never understand the hype around Loreen this year. The song is completely unbearable and unsingable, the lyrics are cringe and the melody sounds plagiarized.
The fan base is even more annoying, calling her qUeEn or GoDdEsS when she‘s basically a one hit wonder.

Who The Hell is Edgar is my favourite song this year but seeing these outfits is making me lose hope the Austrian team will know how to translate the video to the stage

I think this outfit looks quite cool! Idon’t think Austria is dependent on creating the video all over again, could have looked weird with the outfits from the video on stage for all those who haven’t watchef it.

Also majority of viewers will not have a clue about the video. They will hear the song for the first time then and there.

This OGAE poll is really obscene. It’s as though the same 9 songs are getting all the points and the 10th choice is a “speciality”

I do not get why fellow artists have to be so harsh toward others.
He don’t have to like it of course but he can also be diplomatic and say not my thing but good luck or something..
There id far to much negativity in ESC community already..

Where are the BBC song preview shows? They’re the only ones not doing that at this time. If they were to give this year’s songs a bit more coverage, some of them would be hits here by now.

Disgraceful Ellie for not supporting Mea

Some of the countries I’m noticing with 0 to 5 points tell me everything I need to know about the OGAE. No musical depth, just following the hype. I won’t be surprised if some didn’t even hear the less popular songs.

@Steya Isn’t that the same glossy garbage bag Pia Maria wore last year?
Iam so happy the Austrian broadcaster recycles. Iam sure this duo is more sustainable then their predecessors

Käärija seems to really be a great and fun guy. Great personality.
Really looking forward to some crazy performance and would not mind seeing him win

I’m surprised that Ukraine haven’t got any points, they’re in my top 10 this year (as they were also in 2022, 2021, 2020). Still, that might silence those who complained that Ukraine would win regardless.

I can only guess that it’s NOT for: Sweden, Czech Republic, San Marino, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia, Ireland or Australia.
