Yes, that’s right! Mighty Hoopla is back.

Last year was epic. Loreen belted out her Eurovision entries “Euphoria” and “Tattoo” to a sun-kissed audience singing to every beat. Later in the day, we hung out with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Then Olly Alexander headlined Mighty Hoopla (as part of Years and Years) in a spectacular set featuring surprise guests Girls Aloud and Jake Shears. He then went on to Eurovision to represent the United Kingdom in Malmö.

Mighty Hoopla 2024

This year, the festival returns to Brockwell Park in London on the 1st and 2nd of June. So, rock your glitter tops and bring your dancing wellies for a fun-filled weekend of infectious pop, expressionism and dance.

Albanian superstar and Eurovision 2023’s interval act Rita Ora is part of an incredible weekend lineup. With an impressive 10 billion streams under her belt, Rita will also perform the world exclusive of her brand-new track at the much-loved event.

Joining her is Bambie Thug. Packing a punch that’s harder than the impact of a bullet train, Bambie will hex you into outer space with their performance of “Doomsday Blue” and other cult favourites from their EPs High Romancy and Cathexis.

Mighty Hoopla 2024 lineup

But that’s not all! Other global acts this year include En Vogue, Nelly Furtado, Delta Goodrem, Goldfrapp, Jessie Ware, Hercules and Love Affair.

But wait! There are many more hidden gems in this year’s lineup. For example, West-End star Michelle Gayle who nearly represented the UK at Eurovision in 2008, will be performing hits from her 3 album catalogue. Transgender icon Amanda Lepore will also be making an appearance. So bring your face, body and get ready to dance to “Fierce Pussy” even if it rains! You can check out the full lineup here!

Mighty Hoopla 2024 started life as Sink The Pink back in 2007, and has grown into an annual tradition that platforms some of hottest acts in the LGBTQ pop space. Blending fun with dance, fashion, music and expressive art, Mighty Hoopla has become an annual tradition for 55,000 revellers in Brockwell Park.

Looks like a lotta fun… And the weathers good too!!!

Saw this cool video of the auto-camera-cuts and programmed-run-through from the plethora of cameras at ESC24 for Bambie’s performance… Look at the coloured bar, the segments, times camera numbers as the three minutes progress.

Reminds me of ‘adobe flash’ from back in the pre-HTML5 days.

Have fun all. Enjoy the weather.

Pretty sure Rita actually tried to represent the UK a few years before she made it big.

2009 I think? Could be wrong though

Michelle Gayle! Now that’s a name I haven”t heard since mid 90’s. Sweetness and Looking Up used to be my jams back in the day.
