A new season of Junior Eurovision is right around the corner, and Italy is ready for it. This year, Italy has internally selected Simone Grande to participate with his song, “Pigiama Party,” a joyful tune about a slumber party night, but also about peace and unity. In other words, Italy is set to bring the party to Madrid on the 16 November.

Italy in Junior Eurovision 2024: Simone Grande with “Pigiama Party”
Simone Grande hails from Rozzano and already has extensive experience on stage and in television. He is the winner of The Voice Kids 2023, where he was coached by Italian rapper Clementino. In addition to music, Simone is in his second year of middle school. His passions include football, which he’s been playing since he was eight years old, and dancing, a hobby he took up at the age of four thanks to his older sister.
In his free time, when he’s not playing football, Simone enjoys watching the sport, with Inter Milano being his favorite team. He’s also passionate about cooking.
Simone’s Eurovision entry is his first original song, but he loves recording covers. On his Instagram page, he’s shared various songs, including “Imagine” by John Lennon, “Adagio” by Lara Fabian (which he also performed on The Voice Kids), “Easy on Me,” and many others. He even recorded a cover of “Brividi,” the song that represented Italy in Eurovision 2022, performed by Mahmood & BLANCO, which he also released as a single.
What do the “Pigiama Party” lyrics mean?
As the title suggests, the song is truly about a slumber party. The lyrics are a mix of English and Italian, where Simone invites everyone to his pajama party, with the theme “Love is,” making everyone feel welcome.
Set against the backdrop of a beautiful Italian night, with a stunning moon shining over the scene, the song confidently declares: “It’s the best party ever, we can live it together / You can jump or you can dance, love will last forever.”
However, the song goes beyond just fun and celebration; it serves as an encouragement for peace and understanding, invoking a famous quote from music history about love being the answer: “So come and sing it loud: ‘Love is the answer.'”
The song also sends a message to those who feel lonely, inviting them to come together as one. It emphasises that no one is alone while delivering a clear anti-war statement. This joyful, catchy tune carries a deep message: “If today you’re feeling a bit down or if you’re feeling lonely / We want you here at my pajama party / Here, the only war is fought with pillows / Sing and you’ll feel better, there’s nothing better than.”
