We have entered the last week of February which means Melodifestivalen 2025 heat 5 plus Final Qualification, that will take place at Husqvarna Garden in Jönköping. The six week Melfest tour of six Swedish cities will eventually decide, who will represent Sweden at Eurovision in Basel in May.

You can listen to each song in full length now, which means it’s time for one thing: To name your favourite.

Format of Melodifestivalen 2025

30 acts participate in Melfest 2025 split into 5 heats of six acts each. The number 1 and 2 placed acts from each heat qualify directly to the grand final in Stockholm, and the three lowest placed acts are finished in the competition. This make up for the first 10 acts qualifying for the grand final

The number 3 placed entries of each heat will have their fate decided in a Final Qualification held in connection with heat 5. The five songs will compete for 2 tickets to the grand final decided by the percentage of votes each entry got in their heat plus the amount of votes they get in the Final Qualification.

12 songs compete in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen held in Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on 8 March.

Melodifestivalen is hosted by Kristina ”Keyyo” Petrushina and Edvin Törnblom.

Who is your favourite in this heat? Are any of these acts the one you want to see go all the way to Eurovision? Let us know in the comments below.

Actually this year I just feel that I’m fed up with our ”perfect” pop songs. Unfurtunually Måns will win and we will regret it. The only one I stand with this year is KAJ!

It sounds like all the swedes want KAJ but have accepted that Måns is gonna win… I know the odds have like 58% on Måns, but I don’t get why everyone is so sure. If you people like KAJ then that’s who you should vote for – the jury could surprise you.

Victoria’s song is so deliciously meaningless and shallow. G:son dishes up the required goods AGAIN!

Sweden pumping out the same cr4p year after year. They keep doing it because the juries keep eating it up.

After I’ve heard the songs in full. I like Scarlet and Arwin the most from this heat. Silvstedt to the second chance. However.. Scarlet during the rehearsals didn’t impress media, their show last year seemed better. But we’ll see on Saturday. Their song only should take them to the final. But to win Melodifestivalen it’s not about having the best song. The performance must be there as well. It’s 50/50. That’s what’s seperates the best from the average. And your conspiracy theories about it being rigged for Måns.. He can’t help he’s a talented guy. He just knows how it… Read more »

Grezcula should take this easy in an ordinary year, but I guess Mans is winning.

Ordinary years at this point include a former winner with a “banger” of a song in Mello tbh

Useless heat, no-one have even chance and it’s not because of songs.

Looks like this has been set up for Måns, I guess SVT has low expectations on his chances as his competition is as good as week old leftovers.

Arwin will be amazing. He has a great voice and the song sounds deep and emotional.

Always tough as a metal fan seeing a band like Scarlet to put it more politely, changing their musical direction, just for melfest clout.

They don’t pick the 30 best songs out of those, that’s not how it works unfortunately. They pick 1 or 2 winner contenders for each heat and then fill the rest of the spots with songs that they know won’t have any chance. That way they can get exactly the artists that they want to the final. It’s like that every year.

Wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that most of the alleged 2,794 submissions don’t exist at all

Ok we have heard all the Melfest songs 2025 (still not all entirely) so it gives a clear idea of the potentials. My picks for heat 5 would be Scarlet and Arwin DTF and Victoria in Final Qualif. Scarlet I like this 1st minute but I fear I prefer Circus X but still among the best of this Melfest, Arwin song is very VERY Loreen style which makes it very competitive and Victoria I love her vibe, it makes me nostalgic to see her there, I was so used to see her on TV during my childhood. Now talking about… Read more »

Here you said that Melodifestivalen 2024 final is in your words “stronger than last year”, and it somehow is better each year? Face it, this year is as bad as it ever has been.

You just praise your own country through fire or rain, no matter how terrible it is.

To be fair the Sanremo and Italy stans do the same too every year quality songs or not, and nobody complains about that or give them hatred for that.
I’m not defending the delusion coming from the fans of these 2 countries, but the difference of treatment is really something to study.
