Armenia

After one month and a total of 2,925 votes, Wiwi’s readers are feeling a whole lot of love for Armenia’s Emmy.

The “Boom Boom” singer had just 47 votes (2.6%) at the end of last week, but since releasing her official preview video has jumped to the top of the poll with 520 votes (18%). That pushes Turkey’s Yüksek Sadakat (“Live It Up”) into second place with 11.4% and the U.K.’s Blue into third position with 6.3%. Sweden and Hungary each drop a place—from third and fourth place to fourth and fifth place, respectively. Azerbaijan’s Ell & Nikki remain in sixth place with 4.6%, while the bookies’ favorite Amaury Vassili drops two places—from seventh to ninth. San Marino’s Senit remains in last place, presumably because there aren’t many people in San Marino to vote for her.

You can see the full results below, and can cast your vote here if you haven’t yet done so. Polls end on May 13, 2011–the eve of the Eurovision finale!

Seeing as most people commenting are going for Armenia it’s kinda clear the poll is biased. Good song. It’s catchy. Top 5. But not a winner for me

I think we can 3 countries to fight for victory France, Estonia , Denmark ( predict Denmark or France to win)
Armenia will be in TOP 10 like Azerbaijan ( both out of TOP 5)
United Kingdom will be out of TOP 5 and maybe from TOP 10.
Norway, Hungary, Slovakia will be flop in semifinal .
Italy, Serbia and Iceland are so underrated on betting odds and prediction lists.
Portugal and Belarus maybe will be suprise finalist ( I predict for Portugal result like Austria 2003 and Lithuania 2006).

Jor, thanks for pointing that out. I checked out the live performance and it was better than the others I’ve seen so far. She clearly has some talent. I just wish they’d given her more material to work with. Did all songwriters in Armenia go on strike?

You guys must be jocking? Emmy? I haven’t even seen her sing live. She only seems to be lip-syncing. The song is horrible. Her movements are awkward. She is a “cheap” copy of Lena. I still haven’t figured out what the song is about. Emmy said it is about “nothing.” How profound.

I think the lyrics should really go:

Boom boom chaka chaka
This song is so kaka kaka
Boom boom chaka chaka
You’re a big fat sucka sucka
if you vote for kaka kaka
