He’s the Swedish heartthrob who stole many a heart upon winning Eurovision 2015. And Måns Zelmerlöw has continued to churn out the hits ever since, including “Hanging on to Nothing” which dropped in August 2016. Now, almost a year later, he’s finally given us the official music video.

“Hanging On To Nothing” — the second single from his seventh studio album Chameleon — ended up being one of our favourite songs of the year. We even ranked it 19th in our top tracks of 2016 countdown.
Here’s what we said at the time:
Like a lot of Måns’ songs, “Hanging On To Nothing” tells a story of relationship turmoil. He sings, “Calling you up at night/I think I f***ed up” – and yes, he happily drops the F-bomb which is such a Swedish thing to do.
Måns sings of a trouble relationship. His bae is in love with him, but he’s a bad boy who “can’t be tamed”. Despite all the drama and with all evidence pointing to a break-up, Måns is still hanging on. It turns out he loves the drama – “Cos every time that you leave me I’m loving it/And every time that I’m set free I’m hanging on to nothing”.
Like previous single “Fire in the Rain”, “Hanging on to Nothing” is about weathering stormy relationships. But while “Fire in the Rain” took a more positive outlook, “Hanging on to Nothing” is revelling in the misery.
In an attempt to build on his burgeoning popularity in France, Måns also released a French version — “Rien que nous deux“.
Better late than never, the official music video landed last week. Directed by Mikeadelica and filmed in Warsaw, the clip cuts between scenes of the “Heroes” hitmaker singing to camera, gigging, and admiring the Polish capital’s panoramic skyline.
The love affair between the Eurovision 2016 host and Poland is nothing new. His Melodifestivalen 2007 entry “Cara Mia” was a huge hit in the country, paving the way for his debut album Stand by For… to be released there.

I love Måns Zelmerlöw very much but this video is really the “wrong decision”. If you can even call it a decision? Who releases a “video” 9 months after the song comes out (and a rather strange one at that)? Made in half a day at the most…where he doesn’t change from his everyday clothes (if he’s not sponsored by Lacoste, that is) or even have a make-up artist in standby. And why isn’t the video promoted at all by Warner Music, his PR-management or even himself? As I said; Love him much but what is this? And mostly –… Read more »
Love the video, and even after a year, ‘Hanging On To Nothing’ still stands up as a great song. That chorus is made for singing at the top of your lungs with a car full of friends.

This is 2017 … can you finally move on from that Il Di… ops Il Volo bs please? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
It would be better to say ” Eurovision jury’s winner 2015″.
And he stole those “hearts”, not people’s heart xd
oooo harrrrsh…
True.
Oh look, people still holding grudge over something trivial that occured two years ago!
Wonder what it feels like being so bitter, must be fun!
And has the world stopped turning? Has anyone died because of such Italian-Il-Divo-wannabes loss? No … so … get over it! There is a world OUTSIDE of Eurovision to breathe …
Sorry but Il Volo are not Italian wannabes because THEY ARE ITALIAN. All 3 of them were born in Italy and have live in Italy all their lives. They also have Italian parents and siblings – funnily enough! Il Divo, on the hand, are the Italian wannabes as all 4 of them are not Italian. They are not an Italian band, they are a multinational band. Just because they have an Italian name and wrote a few Italian songs, doesn’t mean they are Italian because they are not! Please don’t criticize Il Volo, one of the bands and well-known bands… Read more »
Maybe I’m wrong but it looks like Charles meant that Il Volo are the Italian wannabes of Il Divo. Not that Il Volo are Italian Wannabes.
HAHA !! Haters gonna hate :v
