Earlier today, the Wiwi Jury — our in-house team of music unprofessionals — traveled with their wiwi-plane to Germany ahead of the big final of Unser Song Für Österreich 2015, this Thursday. As we love cultural things, we went to the famous palace Neuschwanstein in Bavaria near the Austrian border and saw a lot of antiques there! Of course, we couldn’t forget to review the Alexa Feser with her songs “Gold von Morgen” and “Glück“. How did our jury like her?

ALEXA FESER – GOLD VON MORGEN

Louis: Alexa has done well here. Simple, passionate and yet it’s still a strong song. The piano playing is also a good touch if she keeps it for Vienna. Not much I can say except well done!

Score: 9/10

Max: If a song were ever to be described as ‘stripped bare’ then it would be this. I feel so emotional listening to this – it just has that vibe that makes me want to reminisce about days gone by. She is a true talent and if this was sent to Vienna then I could see it as a contender.

Score: 8.5/10

Mikhail: It’s really nice and Alexa sounds good, but let’s face it – the song is boring. In the middle of the song I looked at the time and I thought: “It’s not over yet?!”. It feels too long even though it is as every other song.

Score: 4.5/10

Kristín: This is a very nice song, and it puts me in a cozy off-mode. Alexa’s voice is good and this is an extremely good composing here. I just worry that the song will get lost if she makes it to Vienna. But I’ll keep my fingers crossed because this agrees with me.

Score: 8,5/10

Patrick: The song is really beautiful… Alexa Feser is like a rising star in Germany. She has her own commercials on TV and she’s touring through the country. I’m not a fan of that genre but it has something special in it which I really like! She is a fresh face but I’m not if she could do well in Eurovision.

Score: 6/10

Robyn: I’ve seen two versions of this song, one with orchestral accompaniment, the other without. The song is an emotional, heartfelt ballad and I think the piano-only version works the best. I’m not quite connecting with the song (it is a bit dull), but I appreciate the craft.

Score: 6/10

WIWI JURY AVERAGE: 7/10

ALEXA FESER – GLÜCK

http://youtu.be/KTqq79ANrvY

Louis: It’s very easy to like this song as there isn’t really anything bad about it. In spite of this, it isn’t one of those songs that stand out either. It’s flirting with the border of repetitive and boring.

Score: 6/10

Max: Alexa has a superb voice and this track shows off her skills to the extreme. It’s an impressive ballad with uplifting segments that make it really easy on the ear. I don’t care that I can’t understand a word, I still feel like I can connect with what she’s saying just by the amount of energetic soul that the song dispenses.

Score: 8/10

Mikhail: One more song added into the “boring” pot. I can’t feel anything. I can’t see anything. She sings like she doesn’t care at all about it, like she is forced and you can’t attract votes by that.

Score: 4/10

Kristín: This is somewhat a middle-of-the-road performance for me. It’s not half as good as “Gold von Morgen” and I got a little bit bored after about 30 seconds. And Alexa looks just as bored. I am going to move on now…

Score: 4.5/10

Patrick: This song fits Alexa better – it’s stronger with a good tune and, yeah, she can sing great! I’m not sure if she’s the right choice to represent Germany but if she does a good performance, why not!

Score: 8/10

Robyn: It might be the quality of the live performance, but this song just isn’t working for me. Alexa sounds like she’s struggling with the higher, louder parts of the chorus and the band sound like they keep slowing down the rhythm. The end result is a very uneasy performance that is not especially enjoyable to listen to.

Score: 4/10

WIWI JURY AVERAGE: 5.75/10

Everyone language has a beauty…. They say, German is just not appealing to be honest….. Especially for ballads I feel like she is this powerful angry woman and I bet the lyrics don’t say that lol.

Glück is brilliant and my favorite in the line up and could do very well with a bit of a re vamp. Just needs that little something extra, needs an umph!

Ok then…Give the victory already to Ann Sophie like an internal selection and all the rest acts should not bother at all to compete..:P
We will see how it goes..
And dude you are very rude to come here under this Alexa singer’s songs and state that..!
Even if Ann Sophie was the absolute hot favorite to win it still doesn’t matter…Remember that anything is possible to happen and do not be so sure on your any prediction..
