Lisa Angell, the French representative for Eurovision 2015, performed her song ‘N’Oubliez Pas’ live last night for the first time. For the occasion the French singer chose ‘Le Grand Show 2015’ — a popular variety program on France 2 — and proved what she’s worth!

Miss Angell delivered a simple yet emotional performance. Alone in the middle of the stage, the French representative shone bright and removed any doubt about the power of her entry. This is what they call savoir-faire, y’all!

Angell was selected internally by France 2, the new broadcaster in charge of Eurovision in France, back in January. Her selection disappointed much of the fan community, who were expecting a big name as usual. ‘N’Oubliez Pas’ carries a message of hope and perseverance related to the 100th anniversary of World War I. It took on renewed significance following the Charlie Hebdo attacks earlier this year.

Did she wow you?

I think she’s also a contender for the inaugural Kaliopi Award for Ignored/Panned Initially but through Live Vocals and Sheer Force of Will Manages to Do Well.

(I’m still working on the title.)

Beautiful song, flawless performance, France will definitely not find itself in last place again this year. Juries will love this and possibly bring it to the left side of the scoreboard.

It’s a great song and a very nice performance.I’m always impressed when,in such a high level of competence,a singer alone represents a whole country.I don’t know how well France will do in the ranking, but I believe we shall remember this song even after the Grand Final,in Vienna, will be over…

She looks like Alla Pugacheva back in 97′ and the song – fits that era too. It’s not a bad song, and she sure can sing, but it’s just too generic and we’ve seen dozens like it in Eurovision. It’s… ok.

This is a quality entry, but somehow I don’t believe it will do very well… France sent quality songs in the last years and it always struggled… Patricia Kaas may be an exception, but I may be subjective, since ‘Et s’il fallait le faire’ is one of my all time favourite ESC songs – I still listen to it nowadays.

Maybe they should think sending a song in English, but I don’t see that happening any time soon…

Ahh this song is so good! Will definitely do well with the juries due to that vocal talent and I think it actually might do well in the televote because you may not be able to understand the lyrics but you can hear the passion in her voice. 😀

I’ve believed in this song since the beginning. It may be dated for some viewers, but for me it is just brilliant.

This song is pure class. It’s not dated, but timeless, and not dull, but beautiful. This and Italy are quality songs that will stand out against some of this year’s crap.

She sings this song note perfect and I agree that this is better than the studio version. It was my favourite before but now this is the song I want to win Eurovision 2015!
Paris 2016?!

I dislike how people have to have crazy dance moves, Gimmicks (Hi,Conchita!), and lots of flashy lights to win. This, my friends, is true talent.

Great performance! She’ll get highest points from the jury.
I don’t know if someone saw the show and especially Mireille Mathieu performing ‘Une vie d’amour’ (Charles Aznavour’s song)
OMG. What a class! It was so powerful.., she is so unreal! Another legend!

This is just an amazing performance! But it has a big danger of being overlooked and ending up heavily underrated at some 20+ final place, as it has happened to so many great similar songs 🙁

I think France will get it’s highest position since 2009/10 with this. 9th in my top but I really like it. It’s just that this year is ridiculously strong imo.

And its nothing wrong with her clothes and her appearance overall…She is just perfect…Even if she performed exactly like this on stage of Vienna i wouldn’t mind at all..!

I love the way she just stands and SINGS – no fluttering hands or pointing at the camera or crazy facial expressions, she just lets the song tell its story. Great vocals – ESC could do with more like Lisa! Love it.

Who cares about the dress? ESC is a Song Contest, not Europe Fashion Week. Enjoy la chanson.

She can sing the pants off the competition. I really like Lisa and her song, and the slight changes in the end of the live version really help a lot. Probably in my top 5.

Given how atrocious some of the choices have been this year, I think this will go down rather well with the juries.

I loved the song since I first heard it, but I had that the ending felt a bit cut short, especially in the last note. It’s no longer a problem. Her performance was emotional and poweful, but her arms felt stilted for the first half. Use them girl.
