Today’s interview with Lolita Zero and her explanations of some symbolism in her performance. A star was born, but people were saying she is a Satanist: pabandomisnaujo.lt/thats-how-a-star-was-born/

Washing Machine is moet catchy to listen to the first 30 sec but they need to put more work to come together as singers like Ogene did

Washing Machine has been changed so much it’s basically a different song now. Gone all the campy stuff, the dancers, the catchy bass line, plus they added this weird vocal sample. Not sure I even like it anymore. Lolita Zero, on the other hand, is even stronger and more confident than the last time. That’s a force to be reckoned with!

Yeah, they even said it in prerol video- They just wanted to have fun and if anything their song is good for an afterparty at 5AM.

Sorry for the offtopic, but Latvian band Citi Zeni got second place in Latvian Muzikala Banka (best song and performer of the year contest), while Aminata was almost placed the last. This might affect Supernova knowing that Citi Zeni song is pretty popular.

Gintaré should have been 5th if the jury wouldnt count more than the televote… its not fair and she should be in the final

But only four acts advanced to the the grand final. 🙂

Honestly, the only surprise tonight is that I thought Erica would take that fourth spot but the juries ranked her below Lolita Zero? I’m not saying I wouldn’t do the same but I certainly didn’t expect juries to do that.

It’s a shame that “Not Your Mother” is the song that’s getting the secondary televote support after Monika Liu’s song as I think even the most optimistic of us can’t see the juries putting it close enough to Sentimentai in the final.

I was surprised Erica Jennings didn’t qualify, but she didn’t really have a strong song to justify going to the final. I think at this point being familiar name doesn’t matter anymore. You’ve got to Have a really good song and performance.

I think it’s time to accept that Gebrasy is out of the running to represent Lithuania this year. However, I’m glad he made it to the final.
So far, my guess is that the final will be a tight race between Monika Liu, Ruta Loop and Lolita Zero, and I’d be fine with any of them representing Lithuania, though I’d rather Monika to go because she’s performing in Lithuanian. I’m dying to see how this one ends! 😀

Loving that Lolita Zero ran with the televoters first place. It shows they are more adventurous and willing to take risks – and an open mind when it comes to the LGBTQ+ orientated, which I wasn’t sure they would, so I’m very pleased. =)

I love the fact that people hate my comment about Lolita Zero undermind by the juries. When in the heat and semifinal Lolita Zero really nailed the televoting!!! Haters gonna hate! But at the end of the day the public shows why Lolita can be the best choice for Lithuamia

Yes, it’s an odd reaction. It seems anything that is popular with the masses is looked down upon as being too basic. It is quite condescending but I guess elites often are.

So, Here’s an observation about our four qualifiers. Half are from heat 2 and the other half are from heat 3, but nobody from heat one qualified.

Thinking I had to next week, considering that Erica Jennings didn’t qualify tonight, now I’m a little concerned about Ieva. She might have won heat two, but she might be vulnerable to be eliminated. We’ll have to see next week.

I haven’t seen any of the live performances, so I don’t know if perhaps he screwed up. But the studio version really had an unseen before level of swagger. Usually, that’s not even my type of genre, but that song was just too incredibly cool.

Also, I just started appreciating Gintare more… man.

Anything can happen now. I don’t think this would happen, but wouldn’t it be funny if Monika Liu and Ruta loop tied in semi final 2 for 22 points (Meaning they got 12 and 10 points each from the jury and tell her side, but based on the selections rules, whoever wins the 12 points from jury will be the winner).

Sadly this wont happen because televote will be on Monika’s side as well as juries will put her first too, based on heat 3 where they performed. Monikas song is now trending all over lithuania #1 on spotify #2 on youtube.
Thats showcases that in final she will get 12 points from televote, and 12points from jury.
As Zilnys said he doesnt sees Lolita winning (ans she is the onw contender with televote to Monika, so that means that jury will do anything to put lolita belov Monika)

Well, Erica performed in a very weak heat, so no wonder why she got eliminated today, because her competitors were considerably stronger than the ones she faced three weeks ago (in fact, no one from Heat 1 qualified today)

Also, she didn’t have any staging. It wasn’t interesting to watch her for whole 3 minutes.

That being said, I still believe that the final result will be very predictable – Monika Liu will win it all. Although Lolita Zero will receive strong televote support as well

The jury is not convinced that Gebrasy would be able to do well at Eurovision simply by showing his zoomed in face for straight 3 minutes. Vocally, he was still weak. Not to mention that he is lacking support from the public too.

I love his song, but his performance lacks appeal to wider audiences, as neither the juries nor the televote are supporting it. At least he made it to the final.

Things keep looking good to Monika Liu. Lolita Zero can fight her for the televote, but the jury will probably put 2 or more acts between them (Ruta, Ieva, Juste, Auguste…). Juste can do well with the jury, but her televote hasn’t been impressive so far. And Gebrasy is struggling to get support from both fields.

I have to say, the results surprised me. Yes, I expected Gebrasy and Lolita Zero to qualify, but I didn’t expect Juste to win the semi final. I guess Queens of Roses gave a convincing enough performance to qualify over Gintare. I am actually shocked Erica Jennings failed to qualify to the final. Granted, I wasn’t really a big fan of her song anyway, but I didn’t think a familiar name would fail to qualify. Gebrasy qualifying in third place is starting to feel like a sign that he’s out of the running to win this selection. It’s gonna between… Read more »

And again haters just not even read what I texted and respond. I did say that Monica Liu got more vote than Lolita but she got 400 votes more than the third song in the heats overall. But when juries do not vote for Lolita when she got as much votes as the second third and fourth song together, it shows how biased they are towards her.
Lolita Zero – ‘Not Your Mother’ – 2281 votes
Just? Kraujelyt? – ‘How to get my life back’ – 799 votes

Do not start with the crap “you hate-i love-thus-we-are-even”. Nobody is hating on Lolita Zero. In fact, many people in Lithuania, including the jurors, find Gytis to be an exceptionally talented actor and performer. But then it comes to singing, well, jury votes for the powerfulness of voice, song quality, etc. You take a single element – visualizations – and pretend it to be the outermost element in conquering Europe. It is not. Anyhow, you can be entitled to your opinion for as long as you want but you do not come and spread false information. Every single act in… Read more »

Agree, 100%. Gytis and is theatre made a good performance but if you want to see a GREAT performance, check out Beissoul & Einius. When we have this song(?) compared to any basic of their stuff. The hell we’d vote for a joke entry? 5 words in a song + beat does not make a compelling case for an global competion. Do you honestly imagine this song travelling oversees, performing at SNL?? Let’s be self aware here, c’omon.

Because it’s always 50/50 BUT the jury is superior in case there’s a tie. And yes, it’s always been illogical but nobody seems to bother to fix it. So even Lolita got thousands of tv votes but she got 2 tv votes and everyone else got 1 tv votes, she’d win.

I’d say the jurors were a bit too generous giving Lolita zero 8 points, but considering that the majority of the songs kinda weak in the semifinal, there may not have been anyone else better to vote for.

I’m an LGBT+ person, but I can’t stand people who throw around accusations of homophobia for the sake of it. You’re living in a modern world: bigotry may not be a crime, but the social judgment of it is very strong, so you can actually hurt people by using the word too loosely. In this case, the issue was vocals, that weren’t that good and that could put jury off. I’m all for televote deciding over juries, but that doesn’t mean that you can put the jury down.
