Zlata Ognevich is a big contender to win Eurovision 2013—and it’s been revealed that she has some heavyweight support behind her in the form of the famed Klitschko brothers.
During an interview on Ukraine’s Inter TV Channel, Vitaliy Klitschko, the world heavyweight boxing champion, said that he and his brother Wladimir are secret fans of Zlata and her music. He then wished her the best in German, Russian, Ukrainian and English. “Zlata. We wish you all the best,” he said. “We keep our fingers crossed. Good luck for you in Eurovision!” You can watch the video of the televised love-in below.
Zlata recently told the team from wiwibloggs that she is single and ready to mingle. And while Vitaliy is married, we’re pretty sure that his brother is still on the market. That might explain why the Klitschko brothers invited Zlata to visit Mannheim this Saturday when Wladimir will defend his WBA, IBF and WBO titles against former sparring partner Francesco Pianeta. Zlata is going to pop in, watch him sweat, and then fly to Malmo for Eurovision!
“It’s an honor for me to have been invited by Wladimir and Vitaliy to the fight,” she said in a statement sent to wiwibloggs. “I believe in Wladimir and wish him strength and luck in Mannheim. I am proud to be Ukrainian and having so many talented compatriots. Of course, I am inviting Klitschko brothers to Malmo to wave a Ukrainian flag in Arena.”
In previous statements Zlata has said that she would bring “a giant, 2.5 m tall” to appear in her stage performance in Malmo. I think we can narrow that giant down to two people, y’all!
She was quite close from winning. Anyway, Ukraine showed a good performance during EV2013
Lovely Zlata <3
