Everyone knows that Robin Stjernberg can sing. He came 14th at Eurovision 2013 after winning a hotly contested Melodifestivalen in Sweden. However, not even his strong voice voice can disguise the shoddy material that is “Thunderbolt”—his recent collaboration with Ktree and FloRida.
As with other EDM tracks currently sweeping the music market, this lacks ingenuity, the vocals are over processed, and FloRida’s guest appearance adds no value. It actually detracts from proceedings and prevents the song from having any sense of cohesion. FloRida appears to have phoned in his rap contribution and pasted it onto the dance beat. What’s worse is that the production elements overshadow Stjernberg. Autotune renders his unique voice irrelevant. In the music video he plays the piano throughout. Sadly it’s drowned out on the track, and you don’t hear anyone tickling the ivories…
Producers clearly hoped that FloRida would give “Thunderbolt” an international sound and cross-over appeal. It’s too disappointing to do either. This won’t gain much traction outside of clubland (even if there…).

Not entirely sure why this gets such criticism. Yeah, its a bit ‘popular’ music. It would not sound out of place on the radio or on the dance floor. Id buy it and play it. Nice work I say!
Again with the make-up???? Either he is the ugliest person on the planet and they need to cake on the makeup to cover up his face or he’s heading down the path to being a drag queen. On the more important note, he sounds great. It’s a good fun exciting song. Don’t bash it. Enjoy it. (Just please wash that crap off your face)
I really liked this one. So the music style is nothing new – this is like those people who were complaining that Greece’s song this year sounded like it was from 2011. Really? No need to reinvent the genre every time a new song is released. If you want something that’s more inventive and creative, it’s not like it’s impossible to find, but you do have to look for more underground styles of dance music than the sort of stuff you’d see most ESC stars appearing on. First: this track has been around for like 1 or 2 months already, but only managed to get a predictable review now here.Bizarre! Second: Not even this predictable track can overshadow the fact that ESC fans in general have some strange issue against Robin Stjernberg. Take Flo Rida out of the equation, and FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY DO NOT WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO, and this is not bad. Definitely unoriginal and not the best showcase for Robin’s voice, but not bad. I rather like the screechy ‘thuunderbooooooolt’ bits.
