Eric Saade wants you to take you for a ride—literally! In the official lyric video for “Take A Ride” (Put ’em in the Air)”, he calls on all his fans to taste the good life while touring the coast in a car. According to Mr. Saade, this fabulosity spans the cities of Rome, London and Rio. Why no Stockholm or Nyköping?
The debut single from Saade’s forthcoming fifth album starts off well. The instrumentation makes for easy listening, and whistling modernises the song in a really refreshing way. However, the song, like the music video, is only serene and inviting for a minute. It’s not enough to sustain one’s attention for three.
Lyrically, the call to put our hands in the ‘air air air air’ leaves me cold. The joy leading up to the first chorus suddenly plummets into monotany and, dare I say it, to Saade’s expected lows. It’s repetitive and predictable. At one point Saade says he can feel “the statue in Rio, taking on the world with my arms wide out.” Comparing yourself to Christ the Redeemer is off-puttingly grandiose.
Five albums in, I expect more from Saade. Yes, he sells an impressive amount of records, but he completely lacks versatility. It would do him and his fans a world of good to showcase something different….and soon!

TAKE A RIDE LYRICS—Eric Saade
I woke up with my face in the sunlight
I could be in Rome or in London town
I can feel the taste of the good life
I feel the statue in Rio
Taking on the world with my arms wide out
Pocket full of dreams that are real
Time to run away
We’re already late
So we better start today
Dancing to the drum
No matter where we’re from
You know that your life won’t wait
If you wanna take a ride
Go ahead
Go ahead
Gotta learn living life
Go ahead
Go ahead
Don’t matter who’s on top
Together we won’t stop
Promise we will be alright
Gotta learn living life
Go ahead
Go ahead
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
You wanna be a rock or a mountain
Lying on the dirt or above the clouds
Sick of all the shit that we’re chained in
Time to run away
We’re already late
So we better start today
Dancing to the drum
No matter where we’re from
You know that your life won’t wait
If you wanna take a ride
Go ahead
Go ahead
Gotta learn living life
Go ahead
Go ahead
Don’t matter who’s on top
Together we won’t stop
Promise we will be alright
Gotta learn living life
Go ahead
Go ahead
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Don’t matter who’s on top
Together we won’t stop
Promise we will be alright
Gotta learn living life
Go ahead
Go ahead
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
Put em in the air air air air
Hands in the air air air air
AND YEAH THE CHORUS IS THE SAME AS J-SON’S BUT THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS AND THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT OK. IF J-SON HAS NO PROBLEM THEN WHAT’S YOURS???
SHUT THE FUCK UP FUCKING IDIOTS. THE SONG IS AMAZING AND EVERYONE LIKES IT , BUT HEY YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY RETARDS.
Does no one else realise that the chorus to this song is the same chours as J-Son’s Mr. Feelgood which came out like 2 years ago?
Yeah well his biggest mistake was when he ”wanted to change” and left Fredrik Kempe, Peter Boström etc. No wonder he hasn’t had any hit since he left them.
@Jordan AMEN!
that Popular lost against that azeri song is still mind baffling.
I’ll take a ride… on his schlong.
