Are you tired of all the Common Linnets breakup news yet? We at wiwibloggs thought the story was over, but now yet another chapter has opened!

Waylon_axel

Last week, Dutch gossip site RTL Boulevard revealed that Ilse was angry with Paul Brinks, Waylon’s manager. The site soon removed their story, but a few hours later Dutch news site Nu.nl published the exact same one.

Here’s the low down. Following the Common Linnets‘s success at Eurovision last May, Ilse, who manages all of the bookings for the Common Linnets, had to negotiate with Brinks about how the duo would proceed after Eurovision. That was never going to be straightforward. It didn’t help that Waylon’s manager used to manage Ilse too. Nor did the fact that the two had a major falling out, which led to their own breakup.

During negotiations Brinks reportedly dug up a lot of their old drama. This appears to be what led Ilse to conclude that Waylon needed to go.

Nu.nl describes Waylon as the black sheep of the story, because he would have loved to join Ilse in the Common Linnets. But there is no chance for him now. He’s effectively lost out because of his difficult manager.

What do you think? Is the Common Linnets story really over now? Or will Mister Brinks slay back?

I don’t get this, TEG: When Ilse and Paul Brinks had beef, why would Waylon become a part of the Common Linnets at all? She would never have signed him because she would have to negotiate with his manager. I mean, the story of them being friends since they were teenagers is hardly true, isn’t it?

IIlse had beef with Waylon’s manager. I wonder if it was topped with butter, herbs and pooled in gravy (from an OXO cube) complete with mashed potato with Kerrygold butter melting like ice on a hot day.

I would have been more glad about Waylon as a soloist. Waylon in duet with Ilse was boring, he remained far below his potential. I do not believe in long-term success after the ESC, therefore it is better that Waylon has dropped out immediately. His role of a soft partner to the side of an eccentric woman does not fit.

It’s over. Not because of the manager. After Eurovision they would only do Tuckerville and then separate. Waylon later said on RTL Late Night (a Dutch talkshow) that the Common Linnets were Ilse’s idea and team. He stopped because otherwise he would let his team down and they always worked hard for him and his promotion. But the Dutch media likes to make stories about fights because people love negative promotion more than positive. Just like the biggest Dutch newspaper Telegraaf posted on her site on 8th May that Belarus didn’t show Conchita, which wasn’t true. You don’t have to… Read more »

I’m guessing it isnt difficult to find new management. The manager is Waylon’s employee, so if Waylon wants it, the manager needs to find a way.

If I were Waylon, I would dump my manager, get a new one, and rejoin with Ilse.
