In recent months Eurovision artists have been trying their luck on TV talent shows like X-Factor and The Voice. Rui Andrade did it in Portugal, Aliona Moon did the same in Romania and now Daria Kinzer has appeared on Das Supertalent—Germany’s answer to Britain’s Got Talent.
Flashback – May 2011 – Düsseldorf, Germany.
Twenty-three-year-old Daria Kinzer is representing Croatia… She takes the stage with one mission – TO CELEBRATE. She enjoys performing on the stage, changes her clothes every 5 seconds and has a great song – but she’s eliminated in the semi-final. She heads to Euro-Club to party anyway.
Fast-forward to 2014. Only diehard Eurovision fans are still celebrating her song. Nobody would expect her to appear again…
She starts singing “Run” by Leona Lewis and everybody is speechless because of her wonderful voice! She receives standing ovations and even the jury loves her. Only one man — the most popular judge in Germany, Mr. Dieter Bohlen — is sceptical… “If this were a Leona Lewis karaoke contest, you would win. But we are looking for unique voices and you are not unique. You could never sell CD’s, I’m sorry”, says the elderly singer from the 80s. But thank god that the other judges love her. With 3 out of 4 YES votes she is in the next round!

Good luck Daria – we are still celebrating you!
