Belgium’s Francophone broadcaster RTBF has today announced that Loïc Nottet will represent the country in Vienna. Just as they did with Roberto Bellarosa in 2013, Belgium have opted to use The Voice Belgique format to select their representative. Loïc eventually finished as runner-up on the latest series earlier this year.

Shortly after the announcement, Eurovision predecessor Axel Hirsoux tweeted to wish Loïc the best of luck. Belgium finished 14th in the semi-final at Copenhagen with 28 points.
Good luck Loïc Nottet pour l’eurovision 2015. Je te souhaite tout le meilleur, c’est une superbe aventure qui… http://t.co/lFxssBugYP

What do you think of Belgium’s decision? Can they replicate Roberto’s success?
He reminds me of Matthew Koma, another singer with a woman-like voice, who collaborated with Zedd in the songs “Spectrum” and “Find you” and Tiesto in the song “Wasted”.
By the way, the clip I recommend listening to is his duet with BJ Scott, a cover of U2’s “One”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqu1BvkCtdo
This is quite the clip… I love listening to the American-born judge speak French, and of course I’m very intrigued by the singer with the feminine voice. He’s only 18, but he certainly seems ready for the big stage.
The most similar voice in Eurovision to Loic is probably Boaz, so it suffices to say I’m looking forward to hearing him in Vienna. He will probably bring something quite fresh.
Oh dear, he’s just like most singers in such contests. Screwing up is face while he sings as if he is defecating. He’ll have to sort that out before May.
I was NOT expecting that voice from him, but it was a pleasant surprise! Now I just hope his song to be a good one, one that will showcase that powerful instrument he has in all its splendor, but I think Belgium is in the right path already!
I found his voice to be sort of annoying for my taste. I don’t like vocal acrobatics. Maybe the song he will get will sound less harsh.
I really dislike his voice. Maybe the right song will help, don’t know.
Love It! Just waiting for an awesome song and then it could go really well for Belgium next year! 🙂
I really love his voice, so strong. At first I thought it was a woman, a woman’s voice for sure. Quirky yet cool, well done Belgium such an improvement. Let’s hope the song delivers too. Good luck!
Brrrr what an annoying way of singing and many times off key… :-S
Not my cup of tea.
i love his voice!!! i hope he will get a winnerworthy song so we will go to antwerpen or brussels in 2016
Seriously…wtf was that Chandelier video?
He’s cute and a really good singer, I can’t imagine him *not* going through based on his voice, with his song I can imagine a top 10 spot! The only issue is the chandelier video he made…im pretty sure the girl dancer had on blackface and at another point in the video so did he so im not too comfortable with that…
