Yesterday was a special day for many Dutchies and Eurovision fans. After two great years everyone was excited for the unveiling of “Walk Along”, the song with which Traincha will represent the Netherlands at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest next year in Vienna, Austria. Now that it’s out, everyone has something to say.
Everyone has an opinion!
It all started on Thursday morning when Traincha debuted her song in the radio show ”De Gouden Uren” (The Golden Hours) hosted by ex-commentator of the Eurovision Song Contest Daniël Dekker. The first reactions came from the current Dutch ESC commentators Jan Smit and Cornald Maas. Jan said the song has everything to reach the final and maybe win. He also said that it’s a good sign that the chorus starts 25 seconds in, which always does well with the Eurovision crowd. Cornald said that the song is very energetic and this could maybe be the Netherlands’ chance to win it all.
Someone else who had the right to share her opinion was Ilse DeLange, half of last years participating duo the Common Linnets. Ilse tweeted that the song is cool and catchy. Besides that she wishes Traincha lots of luck and she is already flying her flag.
@Trijntje_O @GoudenUren wauw!!!!! Wat super fris en catchy! @Eurovision te gek!! Zet em op Trijntje!!! Ik zit nu al met m’n vlaggetje klaar!

Last but not least Traincha revealed that her two sons were the first to listen to the song and they adored it. They are still singing it at home!
Do we love Traincha and her song?
The team of wiwibloggs is not yet sure what to think. The BeNeLux division loves it, but some other Europeans are not sure if it will work at the Eurovision stage and even called the song boring. But who cares! The “boring” Dutch song worked out last year and since the rumours are swirling that Belgian stage director Hans Pannecoucke will return to do the Dutch staging, maybe his magic with the Common Linnets’ performance will continue for another year.
What do you think? Is the Dutch song one to go for the win? And where is it in your top three?
Hi TRAINCHA! Trijntje & crew think about the performance on stage: keep the video stills from the official promotion video and suggestion to stick with common linnetrs ‘black and white’. You can use the steps of the sexy guy in the clip. Start with his steps and use a ‘zipper’ to open to the next clip in black white.

I am proud of this the great entry for the Netherlands. It is one of the best singers we have and by her participation the door for other top stars will be wide open next year. As I heard the Netherlands will now start working on a good stage performance / act, so hopefully les douze points pour les Pays-Bas, will be heard very often. I can’t wait to go to Vienna 🙂
Just an amazing song. And the live version in the The Voice was also pretty great. I think this song will suprise us in Wien and it will get a great position again.
Well, the Netherlands will be qualified in the third yeard of their “return”. Traincha’s voice is that cool – but it is not same for the song. Such a shame that, I am a very big Anouk fan – I just realised that, am just a big fan of her 2013 album, Sad Singalong Songs. After two great years this is such a nothing one. “Walk Along” isn’t the winning song at all, will be placed between 7th-15th. So, we’ll not be in Rotterdam in 2016. May thoughs on it may change if they edit the song, add some extra… Read more »
Very good song. Too early for me to evaluate it fully, but right now I’d put it somewhere between 10th and 15th. I hope she makes an outstanding video for it. Even middle-of-the-road songs fare far better than most people expect because of the video. Consider Alex, who finished 10th (bookies thought he’d finish near the bottom or fail to qualify) because of his video for “Kedvesem”.
She’s so amazing live! Great performance at The Voice
I don’t really have an opinion for the song yet. It’s really catchy and it sticks easily in my head, but I don’t have any strong feelings for or against it.
From the only 3 songs released is my favourite. Judging the song just by itself, I like it. Will it win? It’s too early to know, but I think it has potential to do well.
The best songs never win. This song could surprise with th right staging. DO NOT write it off already.
trijntje stated somewhere that she won’t give her performance for esc tonight
I do not think she will give her performance free yet tonight on THE voice…the dutch love to suprise the last two years, and I do think this year, it will be a great feel good live performance! I also think they have their plan ready for Esc2015! One more thing, I think it is very good that THE netherlands change the genre of music this year, we do not want to stick to same kind of music Every year, THE dutch people have to believe we also do great in other kind of music. I have a good feeling… Read more »
Thit is a great song i think top 10 maybe top 5
I don’t know yet. Let’s wait for the live performance tonight on The Voice of Holland.
I love it, can’t get enough it! WELL DONE, Netherlands.
12 points from Austria
Mixed feelings: it’s not that i dislike the song but it’s more that I can’t see this mirroring both the composer and the singer. This does not sound like a composition I would expect from Anouk, as it’s too pop for her usual style and as far as Trjntje is concerned, she is not giving her true style to the song which I expected since Anouk said she wanted her stripping out all the soulfulness of her voice for this. The song is too much in a Demi Lovato kinda of way for two outstanding artists with more age, wisdom… Read more »
YES! My winner so far (until Romania and Austria selected their songs). My top 3 so far:
1. The Netherlands
2. Malta
3. Macedonia
I don’t like the song. Not my taste of music. Sound for me a little bit boring and like an Song from 2000s. My top 3:
1.Malta (Great song! Very modern!)
2.FYR Macedonia (Good song! But should sing in english!)
3.The Netherlands
The song is average, but really suitable for Eurovision. The the singer and possible director will boost it immensly!
I’m sure that if the Netherlands didn’t reach 2nd place last year and instead were non-qualifiers as so many times in the last 10+ contests, the fuss about this song wouldn’t even be half as high. Think about it, would you say that this song is a “clear winner” or “at least top five” if it came from, say, Portugal, Georgia, Macedonia or San Marino? In my opinion, it is a nice song, but nothing more. Of course staging will matter a lot, but after all it is still called eurovision SONG contest, and I just can’t imagine that this… Read more »
Count me in the fan zone.
Good song for Christmas, not for Eurovision.
I love it.

Thought it was great for the first minute, then I reused she just repeats the same sentence over and over again for the whole song. Lyrics are shit, just saying WHY why-yai-yai-yai-yaiiiii for 2 minutes at the end does not make a good song.
Not special I already forget the song after listen to it
Definitely looking forward to see The Netherlands at the Top 3 again with the song that Trijntje’s performing at the Eurovision. In fact, they might just win in Vienna if the staging is good enough!

The exact same situation as last year, an amazing song that won’t get enough attention because people think it’s boring and not eurovision worthy, then comes the 1st/2nd semifinal and people immediately change their mind after seeing the staging and it being performed live and itll probably be a top 5 favorite
A good Dutch cover of Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn.
