Almost a month since they started accepting song submissions, Slovenia’s national broadcaster RTVSLO has announced they have received 145 entries for next year’s EMA national final. The submission period ended on 21 December.

Post by EMA.

This makes it the second highest ever total throughtout the history of EMA, and just behind the 162 entries submitted for 2008, won by Rebeka Dremlj with her entry Vrag Naj Vzame.

A panel of expert juries will now listen to and evaulate all submitted entries, before deciding which six songs will compete at next year’s national final. They will compete alongisde another six acts that will be invited by RTVSLO.

Just like last year, EMA 2015 will be a one night show. It will revert to the same voting format used to select Maja Keuc in 2011. All 12 acts perform on the night then the juries select the top two to progress to the EMA super-final, with the televoting public deciding the winner. A date has yet to be decided.

Tinkara Kovach became Slovenia’s third semi-final qualifier at Copenhagen earlier this year. Her entry “Spet/Round and Round” finished 25th with 9 points in the final.
