Last week Georgian Public Broadcaster GPB announced the five lucky acts who will participate in the national final on January 14. They are: Nina Sublatti, Misha Sulukhia, Eteri Beriashvili, Niutone Band and Edward Meison. GPB will reveal all five of their competing songs on December 31. Ahead of that momentous announcement, we’re introducing you to each of the acts to give you more of a flavor for their music. Next up is Band ”Niutone”.
Band “Niutone” was founded on February 14. The electro-fusion group consists of Levan Abshilava (Drums), Zura Astamadze (Guitar), Shako Gelekva (Bass Guitar), Tamuna Babilua ( Keyboards) and Nutsa Abashidze (Vocals).
Twenty-five-year-old vocalist Nutsa Abashidze knows how to move: Since the age of seven she has studied ballet, hip-hop, world and modern dances at various studios. She shook her thang on the TV program “Star Academy Dancer” in its first season. Dance never kept her from her studies, and she graduated from the Faculty of Management and Administration at the Technical University. She worked with the American Fitness Group “Curves” as an administrator and also worked at “B.S.Sat” as manager of remote sales. Since 2013 she has worked as an administrator and assistant choreographer for ”Teen Club”. Yes, she really does know how to work with dancers, fitness buffs, teenagers, salesman and musicians. Whew!
Niutone is currently working on its first album.
