We’re getting even closer to finding out who will be flying the flag for Lithuania in Vienna this year. Tonight’s sixth show of “Eurovizijos” dainu konkurso nacionaline atranka was the final elimination show before next week’s national finals. It’s about time…
Tonight, the 5 remaining acts once again performed potential Eurovision entries. Because it was the final elimination show, they performed not one but two songs. As usual the points from the Lithuanian juries were combined with the international jury panel and televoters.
Sadly, Edgaras Lubys and Jurgis Bruzga have fallen at the final hurdle, having received the lowest combined total from the juries and televote. That leaves Monika Linkyte, the winner of tonight’s show, Mia and Vaidas Baumila as the final three that will compete in Lithuania’s national final, knowing one of them will represent the country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. This will take place on the 21 February.

The artists now know who is safe, but the songwriters do not. Some of the songs with the least number of votes will be eliminated after tonight’s show. You can still vote for your favourite song on LRT’s website here. All the remaining songs will make it to next week’s song selection national final, where one of them will be performed in Vienna by the three finalists.

Sorry i didn’t know about this strange system of picking a song for eurovision. I just hope Vaidas wins with the song This time, otherwise lithuania won’t do that well as they could do.
I think Mia with The right way should be a good choice for Lithuania in Eurovision, but also Monika or Vaidas
I hope Vaidas wins. I loved his performance of “This Time” from several shows ago and I think that if he took that song to Eurovision, it would be a very successful entry for Lithuania.

Ify, The first performances included a duet featuring Vaidas and Monika singing “This Time”. And it’s nothing new as we’ve had a Mia and Edgaras duet singing “Take My Love” on last week’s show.
Can someone explain to me why Vaidas sang his song with Monika?
Edgaras Lubys was the prime competition for Vaidas, so he needed to go in order Vaidas to be Lithuania’s represent in Vienna. Oddly, with Edgaras’s song. (hopefully)

Mia is the best one in Lithuania this year. Today others were really bad except for Mia. She showed her good vocal skills and how she can transform a bad song into a listenable song. Im so upset that i missed melodifestivalen although im happy that i didn’t see Eric go through! 😀
