The announcement that Australia will compete in Eurovision 2015 has divided Eurofans around the world. From shock-horror to pure joy, their reactions aren’t consistent…but they are very animated. Leaving international reactions aside, what are the people Down Under thinking about the EBU’s decision?

There’s interest from The Veronicas. Would you like to see them represent Australia in Eurovision 2015?

Dami Im would be the best choice of Australian artist by far for a large event performance like this, she has that immense voice and her great musical talent that allows her to carry a song of any genre, she would just need that great song to make it a win for Australia at ESC!
I’m fine with anybody except that racist mayonnaise jar– oops, I mean Iggy Azalea doesn’t go for them.
Would love more countries to join in.
I love Australia! They have a lot of good artist (not talking about Dami Im, Samantha Jade or Jessica Mauboy – they are kinda cliché).
Send someone from The ABU TV Song Festival. If Turkey sent maNga to ESC and ABU, Australia can “be the same.”
No matter what they say!
Wouldn’t hurt to let Iggy Ig feature on a track.
Thanks for this comprehensive news round-up, Ramadan Besin! It is just surreal sitting here in downtown Down Under waiting for our OWN CONTESTANT to be announced – and this year we bleary-eyed non-prime time TV viewers actually get to vote, as well! Pants-wetting excitement all round!
AS EXCITED AS F NOW
well i want Dami im for this! she is amazingggggg
The Veronicas!
Their new album is AWESOME!!!
I really hope that they send a known artist – I don’t see how they wont and I think it will really up the game for future years for other names to get in on the contest – well I hope so!
Bring it home? ESC will never be in Australia anyway. But i do get the point. If they win, let them organise it with the BBC or a country that has never won before. Tbh, i dont see them winning anyway. My guess: top 5-10 max.
Jesus, what is the point for Channel 10 – Studio 10 to discuss a story they have ZERO idea on and lack of information. Why this? Why that? Why why why?
I bet Australia is gonna win just for being Australia, which really isnt fair for the actual european-based acts. I can imagine a song like “Goodbye to Yesterday”, which many people think can be a winner, only getting 2nd because Australia wins, and there goes Elina & Stigs once in a lifetime opportunity to win because of a stupid fluke.
I’m guessing every single top Australian artist is trying to get this. Because it’s once and so they participate this time, or never. And the whole country is going to go nuts when the contest arrives so it’s the largest Australian audience ever for a performer.
I hope they pick well. But I don’t worry about their ability to get someone extremely good.
After this i am feeling that Australia IS SOOOO WINNING!
God… I think I just developed a severe girl crush on Julia Zemiro.
Kylie Minogue plz. Not an XF act..
I feel our best bet is a song written by Sia and performed my Dami Im.
i cant stand Dr. Eurovision
Watch out Europe.
Us Aussies are going to annihilate all of you. 🙂
