‘Amanecer’ will be unveiled in full on March 1st by Spanish Public Broadcaster RTVE and singer Edurne. Spain’s entry this year has been shrouded in secrecy and RTVE will keep us waiting to hear Edurne and ‘Amanecer’ in full until a few weeks before the official deadline.

Edurne made the announcement in a video published a couple of hours ago, in which she declares not to be allowed to reveal any detail from the song (so far, we’ve only heard a 5-second snippet on RTVE’s site).

She’s not completely cruel though: homegirl’s a tease. Edurne instead offered up four clues about the song for her eager fans in the forms of questions:

If you were a colour, which one would you be?

Aged gold.

If you were a place?

A place where no one has ever been before, like a desert within a sea or a sea in the middle of a jungle. That sort of thing.

 If you were an animal?

A majestic bird.

If you were a feeling?

I’d be…a heartrending feeling.

Deep, emotional and powerful: we love Edurne’s vibe and are super hyped for the release of ‘Amanecer’.

Wanna get involved with ‘Amanecer’?

If like us you can’t wait for ‘Amanecer‘ to drop on March 1, you can get involved with the ‘Amanecer’ project and take part in Edurne’s lyric video.

She wants every eurofan in Spain to send RTVE a picture of their favourite sunrises to be a part of her “Amanecer” Project and make them part of the what she expects to be the “song Europe will fall in love with”, just as she did when she first heard it.

Spain? Win? Ha! Everyone wants a ballad. How many party songs were in the top 10? Any songs that weren’t slow?

Don’t worry. I’ll wait.

I’m waiting Amanecer with high expectations! I’m sure this year we can win because of Edurne’s good voice and her impressive performances.

By the way, PP, how can you say that Australia is the winner when neither the song or the singer has been revealed yet?

Better step it up from where Ruth Lorenzo left. This just has to be another Top 10 otherwise its back to square one again for Spain..

Building so much hype around it could be a double edge weapon, it can turn out to be a big disappointment if the high expectations created are not met… but I hope it won’t be the case, can’t wait to hear Amanecer!

I have high expectations on Spain’s song this year. The authors were the producers of Loreen’s Euphoria and Edurne is a talented and stunning singer. It sounds so far like a potential top 5 contender, even a winner song.
