When Boggie takes the stage at Eurovision 2015, she’ll be bring an important message with her. Her song “Wars For Nothing” was partly inspired by the situation in Ukraine, but also the long-standing massacres and conflicts that still play on the world’s minds. From Srebrenica to Pleiku, the horror is all too familiar. It’s the inspiration for the Wars for Nothing lyrics: “Do you know our earth is a mess, All the wars for nothing, it never ends, Everybody deserves a chance, All the souls, all the souls, can you hear them cry?”

It’s a simple song with one guitar and four vocalists, and it looks like the Hungarian people want to show something serious again. Last year Kállay-Saunders sang about domestic violence, and now we have Boggie with this song about wars singing that “our Earth is a mess”. We don’t know how it will work on the stage, but Hungary always surprises us.

“Wars for Nothing” lyrics — Boggie (Hungary)

Do you know our earth is a mess?
All the wars for nothing, it never ends
Everybody deserves a chance
All the souls, all the souls, can you hear them cry?

That you live in peace does not mean
It’s okay to ignore all the pain
I see children joining the stars
Soldiers walk towards the dark, let me ask

Can you justify all the eyes
that will never see daylight?
Give me one good reason to hurt
A helpless soul, break a heart, kill a mind

Do you know how many innocents
are hiding from punishment
for crimes they’d never commit?
All alone, all alone, do they deserve

To die for believing something else?
For having a face someone can’t stand?
Do you know our earth is a mess?
All the wars for nothing, it never ends
All the souls, all alone, hold them tight
All the souls, deserve a chance at life

A very brave song that is very moving and deserves to do well .
Sadly, it probably will not do.
Well done Boggie and the group .
Peace and love.
