She might not have the biggest name in Selectia Nationala, but Lara Lee has certainly had an impact on Romanian Eurofans with her song “Superman”. She caught up with our New York correspondent Sopon on Skype last week to talk about her song, her views on Romania in Eurovision and, of course, herself!
Born Larisa Ciortan, she came to fame on X Factor in Romania, where she was mentored by two-time Eurovision representative Paula Seling. She also competed in the Selectia Nationala in 2012 with the group T&L, placing sixth with the song “Twilight“. Now she’s back as a solo artist and is fighting tooth and nail for the opportunity to fly the Romanian flag in Vienna at Eurovision 2015.
