After a week of interviews and official rehearsels it’s finally time for the big night, as Portugal kicks off its national final. In this first semi-final of Festival da Canção 2015, we have six hopefuls fighting for three spots in the final. Expect tears, people.
Fans hope — and believe — that the lovely Suzy will appear. Another familiar face will be Adelaide Ferreira, who represented the country way back in 1985. Old meets new and sparks are sure to fly! Rita Siedi’s song is actually composed by Sara Tavares, who turns out to be this lady from ESC 1994.
Participating in this semifinal
01. Rita Siedi – Lisboa, Lisboa
02. Leonor Andrade – Há um mar que nos separa
03. Filipa Baptista – A noite inteira
04. Yola Dinis – Outra vez primavera
05. Gonçalo Tavares – Tu tens uma mágica
06. Adelaide Ferreira – Paz
Voting
A televote will determine two of the finalists, while the jury will choose the third. It’s made up of the composers competing in the festival (naturally they cannot vote for their own song). Two of the composers are also singing their songs: Gonçalo Tavares and Adelaide Ferreira.

How to watch
The broadcast will start at 22:05 CET and can be watched on this livestream (RTP1). And, in case of emergency, also on RTP África en RTP Internacional. These, however, are on delay. Joana Teles en Jorge Gabriel will present the show, which is expected to end at 23:30 CET.
The second semifinal will be held March 5 (3 finalists) and the final on March 7.
