Ágústa Eva Erlendsdótti, the singer formerly known as Silvía Night, has covered this year’s Albanian entry “I’m Alive”. It’s a wonderful cover and you can’t call her lazy: Not only did she sing the song, but she also provided the backing vocals and the music! She’s a woman of many wigs, y’all.
You’ll recall that the irreverent Silvia Night sang “Congratulations” at Eurovision 2006, and later said she didn’t advance to the final because she wasn’t a slut from Holland. Adorbs.
Erlendsdótti, who has ditched her Eurovision persona, was a visitor on a Eurovision podcast and originally planned on singing “Euphoria” before she found out that María Olafs was going to be singing the song as part of her promo. Then she stumbled up on Elhaida Dani’s “I’m Alive”. She fell in love with the song and believes it’ll be in top three.
