The loved-up Lithuanian duo Monika Linkyte and Vaidas Baulima are spreading the love even further with new versions of their song “This Time” in both French and Lithuanian. And they’ve also showed their versatility as performers by releasing a gentle acoustic version of the song.

Bojana Stamenov may be the ruling queen of releasing different versions of her Eurovision song (six and counting!) but Monika and Vaidas are happy to show off their bilingual skills with versions of “This Time” in both French and their mother tongue of Lithuanian.

The new lyrics are different from the English translation. The French version has no kissy “un bisou!” moment, but it’s there in the Lithuanian version. Monika and Vaidas obviously know better than to teach the French about kissing.

The acoustic version slows the original English song down to a leisurely 3:30 and has the duo accompanied by just a piano and an acoustic guitar. This stripped back version highlights the strength of Monika and Vaidas’ voices, especially with blending and harmonising. But with all these different versions, let’s hope they remember the right words in Vienna.

Monika & Vaidas – “This Time” (French version)

Monika & Vaidas – “Dabar” (“This Time” Lithuanian version)

Monika & Vaidas – “This Time” (acoustic version)

What do you think of the new versions of “This Time”? Should artists release versions in different languages? Or should they stick to the original? Leave your comments below!

I like this song as well, but they start as the first act in semi final 2, which is a disadvantage. my score 9.1/10 really joyful song , but there also many duos in that semi final. leaves me wondering is it the battle of the duo.

Robyn :- Thanks for sorting it out anyway.

I think it is always good to have other versions in other languages and other styles to promote the song. And others get a chance to listen to the lyrics with the music. Though I have to say Bojan was a bit OTT, just TOO much perhaps?

Robyn :- The links did not work with the full stop, it did without it………………..anyway you have changed the format so that we can see the video instead of the link now.

Robyn :- You have and extra “full stop” in the word “youtube” in your links.

Sounds like they are saying “Foxy, foxy”.
