Just over a week ago, we launched the inaugural wiwivision – our alternative song contest. The aim was to banish those post-Eurovision blues, and it seems to have worked. Y’all voted in your thousands and went crazy in the comment box. The wiwibloggs team may have picked the entries, but you were all determined to make your opinions known! After counting a whopping 4,911 votes overall, we can now confirm that the results of the first semi-final are in! Have your favourites made it through to the grand final? Remember, the poll only accounted for half the vote, with the remainder coming from the Wiwi Jury.

WTF: If you don’t like Romania’s song, then don’t vote for it instead of blame these who like her song.

@Arianator: I’m from Romania and you love Inna only because you have bad taste.

Would have preferred Armenia over Hungary (I can’t stand it’s generic country/pop-ness with horribly written lyrics), but apart from that I’m okay with it all.

Belgium is definitely my fave to win, but I really like Denmark as well.

Everyone who i wanted to qualify did! Yaaas 😀

I honestly thought semi-final 2 was a lot stronger than this, but still some killer songs here.

Quite nice results, the only song that I wanted to make it through was Russia’s which was in my top 3. My 9th and 10th place, Serbia and Belarus also didn’t make it but I can’t say I really cared, and I don’t mind Belgium (my 11th) making it instead. The only entries that qualified and I’m not fond of are Romania and the Netherlands. #teamEstonia at the moment!!

8 out of 10 isn’t bad!

I would’ve switched Belarus and Russia in for Denmark and Romania, but everybody in my top 7 got through, so no complaints.

My favourites are Belgium and Estonia, they’re both standout songs from this semi, particularly Belgium.

I really want Selah Sue for Belgium this year. She was great at Rock Werchter (a Belgian festival) She is amazing live and with a good song and performance she could do pretty well. I just hope she will enter the national selection. Btw really fun you do this guys, my PED is a bit better now 😉 Great job 😀

Sorry to see FYR Macedonia didn’t go through but I do like most of the 10 qualifiers. The songs from Belgium & Greece are particularly good.
I’m looking forward to the final.
