At Eurovision 2012, Sweden’s Loreen went up-up-up-up-up-uhhhh-up all the way to victory. Serving kabuki stripped down minimalist realness, she turned “Euphoria” into an electro-dance classic — one now played from Antwerp to Atlanta (seriously, I heard it at an Abercrombie & Fitch store once). Of course, plenty of other acts left an impression too with some killer choruses and memorable staging. From Rona Nishliu‘s chaaaaaaaaaai to the Buranovskiye Babushki‘s bread baking to Gaitana‘s insistence that you stay and be her guest, a lot of these acts are lodged in our memory…for better or for worse.
And then there are the others. As we scroll through the list of Eurovision 2012 songs, some are a bit harder to conjure up. Nina Badric’s “Nebo”, Pernilla Karlsson’s “Nar jag blundar”, Eva Boto’s “Verjamem” — try recalling all of the lyrics verbatim right now. Told you so.
wiwibloggers William and Deban wanted to test how many of the lyrics and melodies they could remember while standing in front of a camera, and you can see the results below. It ain’t always pretty, y’all!
Which songs do you struggle to remember? Give it a go and then vote in our poll below. You can vote for as many songs as you would like, but you can only vote one time.
And in case you missed our earlier editions, you can also review our Eurovision 2015 recap video and poll results and our Eurovision 2014 recap video and poll results.
What it takes was such a good song played last night, and what a spirruse! usually i listen to the songs and enjoy them, but last night while listening when about to go to sleep, this song came on, and made me want to get up and dance! Who is he? is he signed? tell me more information about him please 107.1! I downloaded his album off itunes, and OH MY GOD, he is unbelievable! play more songs from him please! maybe an hour dedicated to him??? i hope so!
Sweden 38 votes.. Really?
Interesting to see the difference in opinions in just this comment section alone.
2012 was the weakest Eurovision of our times, it’s no wonder Euphoria sailed through. I really struggle to remember many songs, however I still keep humming Slovenia and Croatia, who were quite sweet and memorable.
Both countries killed themselves by turning their beautiful NF performances into dark and gloomy Eurovision performances.
From the songs at the top I hardly remember Serbia and Azerbaijan. But the least memorable song by far would be Belgium.
Really who doesn’t remember Euphoria?
2012 was such a good year
It doesn’t matter whether you liked it or not, I don’t think anybody could forget Suus 😛
I think the poll should be on the opposite way, I mean, instead of asking which song I struggle to remember, you can ask, which songs do you remember the most?
Because, how could I remember if I forgot about a song? I already forgotten.
(sorry for English mistakes)
Exactly who are the ones that don’t remember Euphoria? Really? Why are you even on this site?
I remember loads from this year… i am now going to bed with ‘waterline’ buzzing through my head. cheers for that!
x
I fully agree with gagagag. Malta’s 2012 entry is the sort of cheap trash that gives ESC a bad name. The fact that it qualified to the final over top 10 worthy songs like Slovakia’s or Portugal’s makes it even worse…
Voted for Serbia just because of how well it did and yet I can never remember anything about it.
Well you’re comments are more negative and annoying than the ones of mario gagagag…
Finland’s song from 2012 is such a great and sweet ballad, one of my favourites, but I understand why some people might not remember it.
Of the ones who made the final, Moldova and Estonia are the ones I remember the least.
I think Belgium and Finland are really forgettable. As Croatia is one of my alltime favourites.
I remember all! Good year!
Ofc, everyone forgot the stupidiest song in ESC history – Malta and Kurt Calleja.
*Euphoria* surprisingly has gathered 23 whole votes!! Like WTF..
Oh YEAH indeed…It was so NOT memorable song although it was getting played all the time, endlessly & everywhere back in 2012…Plus the fact that it has been voted the #1 most popular song in top250 of the annual voting by eurofans for 3 consecutive years! And its expected to win again for a fourth straight year!
Like *Euhoria* who??? 😛 😛 hehe..
Sorry for double post but didn’t see Graphs comment and thought it’d be interesting.
@Graph, there are a couple that I can sing along to but my favourites tend to be in other languages, i.e. Suus, Crno i belo, L’enfer et Moi, O Mie and Crisalide are all in my top ten since the 2010s. As for songs I know the lyrics too, they mostly include winners with a couple of other ones, i.e. Euphoria, Rise Like a Phoenix, Same Heart, Is It Right?, Siren and C’est ma vie.
Slovenia, dullest song in history of ESC.
@ Well we mean that we actually know how the song goes in its music & rhythm…Not by any means necessarily that we know the full lyrics of them of course..
Is there such thing as a Eurovision song in which you guys know ALL the words verbatim? It seems like that would be nearly impossible given there are 35+ songs each year.
Song!
Portugal is 2nd?
It’s a great and impressive!
Oh… 🙂 *Aphodisiac* of Greece has gathered the fewest votes.. 😛
I love Nar Jag Blundar!
The LEAST memorable songs 4 me are these ones..
1) Slovakia: Max Jason Mai with “Don’t Close Your Eyes”
2) Montenegro: Rambo Amadeus with “Euro Neuro”
3) Portugal : Filipa Sousa with “Vida minha”
4) Finland: Pernailla Karlsson with “Nar jag blundar”
5) Netherland: Joan Franka with “You and Me”
6) Israel: Izabo with “Time”
7) Moldova: Pasha Parfeny with “Lautar”
8) Serbia: Zeljko Joksimovic with “Nije ljubav stvar”
9) Ireland : Jedward with ”WaterLine”
10) Slovenia: Eva Boto with “Verjamem”
That just has to be belgium “would you?” is such a dull and forgettable song…
Hahaha. I prefer the JESC Nebo
Don’t vorry, guys. Even people in Croatia can’t remember “Nebo”.
