Every year, the Eurovision Song Contest serves up a smörgåsbord of fabulous fashion. We all know about the infamous Barbara Dex Award, which is given to the worst dressed artist annually. But we wanted to know who you think nailed their Eurovision couture in 2015. Belgium’s Loïc Nottet danced and strutted in a structured black number. Spain’s Edurne rocked a red tearaway. And Georgia’s Nina Sublatti stunned us with feather and leather. But one lady rocked the runway like no other. After counting 4,462 votes, we are pleased to reveal that Russia’s Polina Gagarina has won the Vision Music Award 2015 for Best Dressed.

Too often we see over the top fashion on the Eurovision stage. Think costume rather than high fashion. Polina bucked the trend with a flowing white gown that was simple and exuded purity and beauty in every possible way. Her backing vocalists and band also jumped on the all-white bandwagon, and we could hear A Million Voices sing in rejoice as the Russian songstress nailed her song and her look. YES! Polina has subsequently put this dress to work, wearing it for performances at the closing ceremony of the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2018 allocation draw, and at the Muz TV Awards. C’mon dry cleaning!

We add Polina Gagarina to the best dressed roster, where she joins Ukraine’s Mariya Yaremchuk from 2014 and Romania’s Cezar from 2013.

BEST DRESSED: 2015

1. Polina Gagarina: 1,410 votes (31.6%)
2. Loïc Nottet: 1,091 (24.45%)
3. Edurne 649 (14.55%)
4. Nina Sublatti 564 (12.64%)
5. Mørland and Debrah Scarlett 519 (11.63%)
6. Leonor Andrade 229 (5.13%)

Polina may move from second to first, however to beat 302 points is too tough. Most winners of our times have less than what Il Volo scored this year. It was just a freaky three horse to new heights. I doubt that Polina can outdo her song.

Like Dima she might win with a worse song, which upsets the fans.

Like the GreAtY Greek of 2004 who came third, she also beat the score of the actual winner of her country.

Such a gracious person with a killer performance. I’m totally against russia winning, but if Polina won this year I wouldn’t have cared! She deserved it.

I really hope she comes back. Maybe like Dima Bilan she’ll move from second to first!

As the Wiwi guys know, a lot of the artists have several outfits; some have one or even two PER DAY during rehearsals and finals. I guess Polina is making good use of all hers. (Perhaps a question for next year should be “How many outfits have you had made?) I was really impressed by Polina and her whole presentation. The staging/lighting/outfit etc was pretty special indeed, (the band was a waste of time though.) After the rehearsals were viewed, Polina was elevated to one of the favourites. Despite all the obvious obstacles, Polina managed to achieve 2nd by the… Read more »

I guess Cezar’s award for best dressed was rather for his dancers than for himself… 😉

The real question I’m asking myself when reading these Vision Awards articles is why Romania’s Cezar won so many awards in 2013 – like ‘Best Dressed’. Seriously?
