Europe seriously loved Russia’s Polina Gagarina at Eurovision 2015. With her feel-good, we-are-the-world number “A Million Voices”, she won the first semi final and finished second in the grand final (and even led halfway through the voting). Since ESC we’ve seen her perform “A Million Voices” at the Muz Music Awards in Astana and again at the FIFA World Cup 2018 Allocation Draw in St. Petersburg. And both times she didn’t just reprise the song, but also her white dress. We seriously hope she owns a few of these, otherwise her dry cleaner is a saint.

Over the weekend we saw her once again, this time at the closing ceremony of the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan. Unlike in St. Petersburg, this performance was definitely live. She was joined by live accompaniament and at times did a bit of improvisation. The white-denim-clad backing vocalists and drummers look a bit more modern, and we totally approve. Are you feeling it?

why do you think Russians are so unhappy living there? Yeah, of course our government is crappy, but we are okay. We are not screaming. We are just tired of all this.

Polina Gagarina comments in Instagram:
like that: “For those who already looked at air or is going to look – know that at the beginning there were technical malfunctions. Unfortunately, the song began with the second part of the 1st couplet, and to this sound wasn’t neither at me, nor at musicians! It is the air, there can be any situations, but it seems to me we perfectly consulted!”

The sound producer is guilty:-(

She is the perfect ambassador for Russia.

I predict she may do Eurovision again, like Dima Bilan.

The “improv” at the start sounded a bit like she lost the melody and had to repeat some of the lyrics to stay in time with the music….
But such a great song and singer, a perfect anthem for events such as the World Aquatics Championships.

Is that white dress the only outfit she owns?
